Do you have a favorite composer?

My favorite composer is Hans Zimmer and I am sure that you have seen many of the movies that he has done the score for. Some of his tracks that I like the most include Sherlock Holmes, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. He has done the music for dozens of video games and movies and I love hos work.

Some other big Hollywood composers include Danny Elfman and Thomas Newman.

Who is yours?

My favorite composer is John Williams. He was one of the people that we get a ton of our band music from, and I love the soundtracks that he does for movies.

John Williams is a great movie composer. But I think I would have to go with Martin O'Donnell for writing the music to Halo. Either him or Tommy Tallarico from Video Games Live.

My favorite composer is Mark Petrie. I came across his music a couple of years ago and I don't remember exactly how I did, but the music he creates is enthralling and enchanting.

Here's one of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cimoERq3xWk
I only wish it was a little bit longer, but that's the nature of these kinds of compositions, they typically don't run longer than 3 minutes. A lot of them are designed for movie trailers.

Oh, and one other musical composition project I love would be Globus!

I am not really sure what qualifies as a composer, but I have seen danny elfmans name in credits many times before.

I am assuming it is a reference to the instrumental background music that is played during some scenes in movies and shows. That would be a pretty awesome gig to get. I wonder how those guys got those jobs.

I'd have to say Mozart. When I was a kid my parents always used to think that playing Mozart would make me smarter (kinda like that babysitter in The Incredibles) and the tunes have kinda stuck with me for a while afterwards.
