Hello fellow Pokemon freaks.It is i Relinquish,Hold the applause people...There is no applause is there? Back to the point.For any extremely long time fan of my review series you may remember a LONG time ago i did a series called "Tips and tricks to beating gym leaders"

And you can most likely find them if you look deep enough in the forums.However,I don't really like giving tips on gyms.You know why? There to EASY,I need a challenge.And i need something i can really be afraid of,Something i have to break down and study to defeat,And you know what..? The elite 4 does just that.

These guys have been the bane of many trainers ever since the games began.They are your final test.The big moment where you either stand or fall.And i like that,I find it quite exhilarating actually,training your Pokemon in the tall grass for hours (At least that's what i did) Always hoping that your team is good enough,And then finally walking through those doors and challenging them.That is awesome,So in this little series i am going to give my tips and tricks for winning against the deadly four.But one at a time people one at a time.Know what can you expect out of this series.3 things

1.I am going to break down the Elite 4 members Pokemon and show you what you are up against.

2.I am going to tell you what i think the best starter is in this scenario.

3.I am going to tell you what Pokemon i recommend you have on your team.

Got that...? good.Know pay attention class,Because we are going up against the "Mistress of ice' Known only as.Lorelei...cool name

What You Are Up Against

We are fighting the first Elite 4 Member Lorelei.And she is quite possibly the sturdiest member of the 1st elite 4.I say that in a sense that her Pokemon have QUITE alot of health.And are going to be a pain to take down.However i will get into more of that later,For now lets just look at her Pokemon

1.Dewgong: Later means now. Dewgong is going to be a bit tricky.And here is why.His major weaknesses are rock fighting grass and electric.However...his special defense is EXTREMELY HIGH.Seriously it is his highest stat.So that means that electric type moves and grass type moves are not going to be that effective,Sure its going to do a bit of damage.But your best bet is using fighting type moves and rock type moves.As most of those do physical attack damage and not special attack damage.Other than that Dewgong has a massive health stat.So be sure to hit it HARD.Also this is going to be the first Pokemon that Lorelei sends out.So be prepared by moving your team accordingly.Another thing to watch out for is its moveset.Its most effective and most annoying is oddly rest...Yeah,Not joking.it will screw you over SO HARD,Luckily if you hit it hard enough it will not be able to get back up.So try using moves such as.

Thunderbolt
Solarbeam
Rock slide
Jump Kick

Other than that....yeah you should not have to much trouble.For now at least..

2:Cloyster: UGH.This annoying little..I don't like this Pokemon.Let me just get that out of the way.Sadly i cannot rip on it in a review,But i can give you tips to taking it down.And to be honest.Its basically the same thing as Dewgoing,Except now your going to have alot more trouble.As cloyster has a decent array of ice type moves.And sports a huge defense stat that will be extremely tough to get by.However it has a little chip in its armor,And that is its special defense stat.It is so weak at a mere 45.All you need to do is thunderbolt this thing and it will drop..faint.Also do not bother with fire type moves as they will be ineffective against this annoying little oyster.

3: Slowbro: HA HA HA-..Sorry.Whenever i look at this thing i just laugh.Back to the point. Slowbro is going to be an annoyance because if you were relying on a fighting type to take Lorelei down..That goes out the window now.luckily for us slowbro is the most ?vulnerable of all of her Pokemon.Slowbro has 5 weaknesses.Bug ghost grass electric and dark.Aka Beedrill Gengar Venusaur Zapdos AND...Oh wait dark types don't exist yet.Anyway yeah that's really all you need to know to beat slowbro.Despite what some of you may think its rather weak compared to her other Pokemon.If i could give you guys anymore tips well.Use special attack moves.As physical attack moves will be slightly less powerful.

4: Jynx: Alright i got my info wrong.Jynx is actually the weakest and most vulnerable of Lorelei's team.It has 6 WEAKNESSES (Although to be fair 2 of them don't even exist yet) Those are Rock Bug Ghost Steel Fire dark..Ugh,Golem.Beedrill.Gengar...Steel types don't exist in gen 1.Charizard.And once again dark types don't exist yet.Jynx is a rather easy and passive member of her team,And will not be much trouble.If anything else ONCE AGAIN.Just focus on physical attack moves.As its defense stat is very low at a mere 35.Wish i could help you guys more.But there's just nothing more i can say.

5:Lapras: AH YES.Her final trump card is finally revealed to us.Lapras is going to be a toughie.No joke this time guys.We need our A game on right now.Lapras is vulnerable to rock fighting electric and grass.However...it has a massive health stat.And trust me when i tested Lapras for my review.I knew what this Pokemon was capable of,You do not want to mess around with it.We need to get rid of this guy as quickly as possible.Special type attack moves like solar beam and thunderbolt are effective,But not optimal.As lapras has a special defense stat of 95,While its defense stat lies at 80.Our best bet is to use moves like jump kick.And Rock slide.Other than that get the sturdiest Pokemon on your team.And save it for Lapras.Get something with a massive health stat that can survive the constant onslaught.And be sure to pack a TON of potions.Other than that good luck.Now lets move on.

Charizard: UGH...As much as i hate to admit.And after about an hour of thinking about it.I have come to the conclusion that Charizard is indeed the best starter for this situation.As it will be less vulnerable to ice type attacks.And even though my mind was completely set on Venusaur,The fact is that Charizard is faster less vulnerable to ice type moves.And can get damage out quicker than venusaur can.Also Charizard can learn some very good fire type moves such as.Flamethrower.And even though i am a huge fan of Venusaur..Charizard takes the win.Stupid dragon.

Other Pokemon i recommend you take

Zapdos.Raichu.Or Jolteon: Alright..i am not going to completely explain all of these choices.But i am going to explain the pros and the cons of each of these choices.

If you Pick Zapdos: You get the best electric type in the game.But you are the most vulnerable to ice type moves.

If you pick: Raichu:You get speed and a fast way of getting out damage: But you are a bit weak.

If you pick Jolteon:You get somewhat of a balance between Zapdos and Raichu.As you get the speed of Raichu,And a decent amount of special attack damage,However you are the most weak.

Machamp Or Machoke: Machamp (If you can get it) Will be very effective in this scenario.In fact i would go as far as saying that it may be the most effective Pokemon on your party.As it can drop every single one of them (Excluding slowbro) Without batting an eye,And i recommend you save this guy for Lapras.Other than that machoke is still a decent choice.But we all know who is better here...

Moltres or Arcanine: PLEASE,For the love of god get the moltres.This it will be just as effective as Machamp.You get the strongest fire type in the game.THAT IS NOT VULNERABLE TO ICE TYPE MOVES,it is fast.It is powerful.And it has a decent defense.However watch out for slowbro,As it sports water gun.And is not hurt that much by fire type moves.If you for some reason cannot get Moltres,Arcanine is the best choice.However it will be a time sink and an annoyance to train.Trust me i did a review on it..so stressful..

And that's really all your going to need for this member...Sorry,I know its not going to cover every single slot in your party.But you don't really need all of them to be filled in order to win.If anything just get an alakazam or a Gengar.As they provide decent damage,Or kadabra and haunter.Whatever you can manage.

FINALLY,She traded out the useless slowbro for Articuno!

Get a starmie and teach it thunderbolt, recover, surf and some other strong attack of a unique type. Starmie has a nice set of moves and can learn surf, which is a very powerful 100% accurate attack. Thunderbolt will be very useful, and recover will make up for taking a few hits along the way.
