In this quick review i'll be speaking on the Character types and their balances. In Street Fighter, what makes it such a unique series is it's ability to even out the characters while still differentiating their abilities. Each character has a separate attack type, or an attack group. First off would be the Street Fighters, I call them this because they're the main characters and they share the same Gi (Apparel), these fighters consist of Sean, Akuma, Ken, and Ryu. Using this example I can explain basically the entire character scheme, so read carefully. Sean is a ground and pound, medium ranged fighter, His attacks allow him to move at high speeds and grab you from the legs from short to medium range, he also has a spinning roundhouse attack which allows him to attack from basically any range on the screen given the other player is backed against a wall. Sean has a medium to high attack power, which is balanced out by his lack of long ranged attack commands, to counter this player type one would use an Akuma player type. . . . . .. . . . . .. . .. . . .. . . . .. . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Akuma has a "low" attack power to balance out his wide variety of attack types, he has attacks that can counter air movements as well as ground movements, or defend the player at a given time. Akuma's ability to counter multiple attacks, as well as defend against medium ranged attacks allows him to be the perfect type to counter a Sean type who cannot attack from a longer distance. Akuma also has fast movement speed, as well as the ability to string together attacks to pressure the enemy into a corner, or loop of attacks.
A Ken player type is an Akuma type, except for the fact that his air attacks aren't as useful as Akuma's. Ken also has more damage prowess than that of Akuma, and therefore he is more powerful with the same movement speed and ability to combo easily. The Final character type would be a Ryu type.
Ryu is a character type that I would classify as "Power" because his attacks and abilities are fairly slow, and aren't nearly as fast as the other fighters but they do twice the damage of any other fighters attacks, his ability to make each move a deadly hit is what separates him from the other fighters in the game
