Ah, Sonic. Our blue speedy is here, along with his friends. This has been my favorite franchise ever since, I've been playing lots of it's games on Vizzed. And the Advance series is still something I love, even though we've stepped into the 3D game styles. And the second installment seems promising, it pleased me alot. So, I'm going to review Sonic Advance 2 tonight.
To tell the truth, I've never been so pleased after playing the game. I can spend hours playing this game over and over with all the characters and try to do everything possible in it. SEGA had truly made me proud with the Advance series. There is nothing in this game I'm not happy of. So, let's see why I'm so pleased of this game!
Graphics: 9 : The graphics were perfectly fine and fit for a GBA platformer. It's just like the first game's graphics, but they made some visible changes. And trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Sound: 9 : Every zone in the game always have their own themes, and none of them are bad. Some sound very catchy and make my ears relax, some sound very energetic, like it's telling you to clear this zone as fast as you can. Every theme sounds different, which makes them special. It is truly great, I hope SEGA could develop the music in it's games more nicely.
Story: 9 : Story was OK: Sonic had planned to leave his "Hero" occupation for a little bit. However, as he was on his break, he sees that Eggman is on his way to no good, and planning no nice stuff either. Even worse, he also has a poor rabbit and her Chao held prisoner! These are Cream the Rabbit and Cheese the Chao - Cream's mother is in trouble too, and she must help her. And so, Sonic sets off to rescue the rabbit and her chao and stop Eggman's evil plans! The story includes a new character, which, in my opinion makes it more interesting.
Difficulty: 8 : Sonic Advance 2 is one tough game to beat! Some acts are very challenging and requires skill to beat, while some are pretty much,... complicated or/and confusing, which in my opinion, the Techno Base and Sky Canyon have them. I think that just makes the game better and more interesting and fun to beat. (Cream is a *boss cheater* with her broken Cheese-throwing ability though... Muahahaha.)
Depth: 9 : Though being only the second installment on this three-part series, this game has already offered A WHOLE LOT. Special rings? Special stages? Time attacks? Lots of tricks? A wide sound test list? A total of eight zones, not counting one extra? A goshdarn boss cheater?(you know who right?) A garden where you can raise your own chao? And even a special unlockable character that is not in the game cover? Heck yeah! You can play for hours and hours to enjoy all these!
Addictiveness : 10 : I can't take it if I play this game in only one go. I incredibly love this game, and whenever I have free time I'll sit in front on my computer, making Sonic (or anyone else) run, jump and trick themselves through the platforms, enemies and springs. This game is addictive and also undoubtably my favorite.
Overall : 9 : The Sonic games, especially the Advance series never fail to amuse and interest me, even this game. I love Sonic, the blue speed hedgehog and his loyal friends/lover. I hope Sonic Team and SEGA will continue to make incredible games like this.
