Every GB, GBC, and GBA games that I try to play are constantly at max speed without pressing the space bar.  With at least some of the games, the buttons act as if I keep pressing them as soon as I press it once.

deg2000 :  Thank you for the advice, however it didn't help.  The game speed was the same as before.  I even attempted switching the emulator on the top-right corner, but that didn't help either.

Maybe you should press fast forward while it's fast forwarding? I think it may cancel each other out.

This has been a somewhat common problem for some users for as far back as 2 or 3 years ago. My suggestion is to delete your config file from your RGR Plugin Data folder (which in theory should fix it).

You'll find that here (if you're using window vista or above):

steel_attacker :  I also thought that was a possibility, so I had tried it a few times.  There was no effect at all; it continued fast forwarding at the same speed as before.

tRIUNE :  I was really hoping your theory would work, but there was no change.  It was a good theory.  After I deleted the config file, I tried playing a GB game again and got the same problem.  I then went into the new config file and checked to see if changing the values would help.  No luck.

I think I will have to get an emulator and the ROMs from another site for the GB/GBC/GBA games that I absolutely can't play with the speed issue and hope I have better fortune that way.  At least there are more games than not that I can play on here, and even more on other systems I can play on here, so I have no intention of abandoning this site.

Thank you to everyone for your help.

DemonDragon2188 : Have you tried using the alternate emulator for Gameboy/Color/GBA games?

To use, just load the game like you normally would. Then when the game window pops up click the link found in the upper left hand corner labeled "Play using mednafen"

The only drawback is that the save states you have made in the default emulator will not transfer over.

One good thing is that this emulator supports full-screen by holding alt+enter on your keyboard with the game window active.

Hope this helps.

Jordanv78 : Thank you for your suggestion.  For most people, that would probably work, but for some reason, my computer is blocking it.  No matter what I do with my firewall and antivirus, they won't allow me to play the alternate emulator.  I probably need to do a virus scan on my computer to take care of that particular problem.
