On3On : Long time no chat man, how have you been? Anyway, back on track. I won't make any excuses or try to cover anything up but I have to disagree with you when it comes to some of this. First off, yes, there are sex offenders creeps and all of that in the brony community, but it's not just bronies, you see this all over the place, I mean there may be a bunch there but it's not like every last brony is something like this or don't at least try to be discrete. I'm not saying you are saying this either because you made it clear earlier that you aren't placing blame on every brony but I mean each brony is a unique individual and has their own opinions, thoughts, desires, feelings etc, everyone is different and some people are just not what we expect them to be sometimes.

But there are people that act like that all over the place, not just within the brony community, and I get the feeling that you are somewhat letting some bad apples spoil the bunch. Everyone is different in one way or another, just because they hold the common "title" of "Brony" doesn't mean they are even remotely like each other. I honestly hate the term "brony" sometimes, it has become just another stereotype for better or worse, to most bronies it means something good, to some people who do not claim to be bronies it also means something positive, some see it as negative and some are indifferent on the subject but I feel like judging someone with the word "brony" is kind of biased more times than not. So they might share a common interest, that's really it.

In short, I feel that placing "bronies" into one big group is really just too inaccurate to really be a logical and rational call. There are too many diverse people to see them as one big group other than a fan of My Little Pony.

That show is aimed for 4-10 year old girls. A 25 year old legitimately liking it means his personality is like a little girl. Its not that I dislike him, its just I think his personality is too much like a little girl for me and him to get along.

Txgangsta : Actually on the contrary, the show is aimed for a family audience, at least the newer one that everyone likes, maybe not the older ones, I don't really like those personally anyway. And I have to disagree with this comment. (That show is aimed for 4-10 year old girls. A 25 year old legitimately liking it means his personality is like a little girl.) I disagree entirely, just because someone likes a show doesn't mean they have the mindset of what you believe to be the intended audience. There are thousands upon thousands adults that like shows like Adventure time and shows like the Simpsons or the X-men, does that mean they have the mindset of a ten year old boy? I hardly believe so myself, I feel your claim is rather close minded and inaccurate, have you ever watched the show yourself? If you yourself are not a brony why do you claim to know how one thinks? That being said all people are different from one another, brony or not, you can't place them into one little stereotype like that and be even remotely accurate, it's just not how people work man.

You're claiming that you might not be able to get along with someone you've never even met yet, that's a bit close-minded don't you think? Mind you I'm not looking for a fight or anything, it's just that this is a debate thread and I'm here to debate if that makes any sense to you, that and I moderate this forum and I am responsible for making sure it stays active. Not to mention this is a topic I can totally get into.

Frodlex :

My little pony is for girls ages 2-11 according to wikipedia (second sentence). Even if the company themselves say "family audience", just know that all of Disney Channel is also "family audience" and those shows are definitely aimed for children. The phrase "family audience" just means it's family friendly.

There are thousands of adults who like the Simpsons, X-men, Adventure Time, and whatnot, correct. Those "adults" are usually between the ages of 18 and 25 and like them for nostalgic reasons or, maybe, because those shows are very often aimed at that audience. Even if there were 30,000 adults in the US above 25 that watched those shows, that is still 1/10 of 1% of the United States population.

I can know the mind of a brony because I know bronies. And we don't get along. It's not closed minded, it's just the truth. I don't get along with bronies and I think the fact that the show is meant for little girls and they're 18-22 is really really weird.

I have watched the show. It was very obviously targeted to little girls between 3-10. Again, Wikipedia corrects me at between 2-11.

Txgangsta : "I think the fact that the show is meant for little girls and they're 18-22 is really really weird."   Essentially, what I have gotten from your posts, is that you think they are, "weird" or in other words, annoying? So, what if I told you, I am 14 years old, and willingly admit to watching Thomas the Tank engine regularly, by my own will?  So, I would be considered weird?  Because, for some reason it being suitable for young children makes it written to only that age level? Even though, the same thing could be said about foot ball, baseball, basketball, and any other sport? Because baseball is suitable for children of age 7, and age 25-40, and no one says they are weird?

Txgangsta : Can I please point out that wikipedia isn't a complete guide to everything... Also... I don't really understand what your point is apart from... I Don't like bronies...

I can totally understand if people find it weird and creepy that doesn't really bother me... But to assume i have the personality of a little girl is hilarious to me.. especially from such a hardcore stone faced gangsta from texas.. as your username seems to suggest...

So if you don't mind i'm off to play with my dolls and have a tea party..No yucky boys are invited....

This is the part where I try not to sound like everyone else, and address most points brought up in this thread.

Alright, so, my opinions. Yes, I know some of you will disregard all of this because of my liking the show myself, but stay with me on this. Yes, I fully support the point that the older fans need to stop making all the...graphic material. It may not be a large number in relation to the entire group as a whole, the small amount just make so much that it almost becomes even, which isn't okay.

Secondly, yes bronies are judged by stereotypes too often. And quite frankly, if I see another picture/rant about how everyone who watches a television show is an overweight looser living in their parent's basement (Fedora and neckbeard are optional)  I am probably going to rip some hair out of my head. (Thanks to you, /mlp/ and other idiots for giving every single one of us a uneraseable stereotype.)

Thirdly, people who watch it are fine. But I am annoyed by people who let it consume their life. Heck, I've been harassed for liking other shows, and for not being as into it as others. And if that somehow makes me not a brony, so be it. There is a big wide world full of amazing things including other tv shows, and games, that you can like also. And, now that I think about it. EVERY FANDOM has people who take things on a inappropriate level, and people who over obsess about it. NOT JUST BRONIES. Honestly, you can bring the "man child" and "Its creepy that you watch a kid's show" comments, and apply it to more beloved fandoms such as Pokémon, Adventure Time, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Teen Titans, and countless other cartoons (Especially ones that spawned in the 90's).

The bottom line is, everyone is entitled to like what they find entertaining. Whether it be a cartoon about candy colored horses, or a movie about a guy who dresses up in a bat costume to fight a criminal who dresses like a clown. Or even using a gaming forum to express your liking, or disliking, of other people who like things you don't, or do.

This subject is too much for me, I'm sick of seeing the same dismissive stance and arguement, I'm upset and disappointed in all of you.
I could not care less for the stigma bronies face when bronies themselves have spread disturbing trends and content to an even younger and vulnerable generation.

While they have more than enough time to "love and tolerate",
they invalidate and refuse to accept the feelings and issues others face with this fandom.

farmboy8 :

Yes, if you watch/obsess over Thomas the Tank Engine at 14 I would call you weird. The part of your personality that draws you toward Thomas the Tank engine most likely not be completely hidden in social interaction many people would find you weird regardless of that specific bit of knowledge. However, until we actually meet I will never know for sure. Equally, 22 year old men whose personalities draw them to My Little Pony also would most likely not be able to hide that part of their personality that draws them toward My Little Pony in social interaction and many people would find them weird.

Note that both of those happen regularly in reality.

Herpy Dooves :

It is basically "I don't like bronies". However, I use the word "weird" because "many people dislike bronies". You guys are oddballs. The specific thing in your personality that makes you like My Little Pony coupled with the fact that you're not a little girl is the same thing that clashes with the more common person. I don't actually think you have tea parties, but their is a uncommon thing about you that is similar to a girl between 2 and 11.

A user of this :

"The bottom line is, everyone is entitled to like what they find entertaining." Partial agreement, and do understand that I may think your crazy in relation to how crazy the thing you find entertaining. If you're 25 and legitimacy like My Little Pony, I will most likely think that you have maturity issues. Also, Pokémon or X-men are generally liked for nostalgic reasons. They're in a different category. I like digimon season 1, but anything past that seems childish. My inner child comes out for what I nearly worshiped as a kid. However, bronies start watching this at like 16. That's a different category.

People are obviously allowed their own opinion so i'm not going to continue to talk back and forth about a matter that doesn't really affect anything. Some people don't like Bronies, Some people do that's all their is to it.

Now let's all just be like "my opinion is not a fact" and just move on in life

Just curious, but what about Star Fox? I don't like all aspects of it per say, but I do play it because the more mature stuff out there is ussually pretty immoral, which is why in the end I like Star Fox and Sonic the Hedgehog even though I am 18.

I can't really get into any cartooney games now that I'm older, although I do like to remember the days when I was younger. That is why I like Sonic Adventure 2 (not lost worlds) because it holds nostalgia, kinda like a Narnia movie.

Also, God designed men and woman differently. Men and Women will not find their place in life or true fulfillment unless they fill the rolls that they were designed for.

The only reason that I it seems like I am so big into star Fox is because it is a clean, well balanced game. And I have to know a lot about it to run my RPg, which I will probably run as long as I am able for those who are younger than me. (somewhat)

I don't think that guys should like MLP. It was made for little girls. You're not supposed to like it. Liking it, no offense shows that something is wrong. I'm sorry, but I cannot put it any other way. For some reason, people like to think that I must hate bronies because of this. if you look on my friends list, that is obviously not the case.

I wonder if the Bible permits me to get into Megaman even though I am getting older. I do like that it's a retro shooter, not so much the cell shading, although I can see why they did it with graphic limitations, making it highly justifiable.

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

I'm not a bronie 2 and all, man i don't know where to start here...

Ok first of all  if you ask a guy to wear a dress, i don't think he will say yes  , and pants are not just for guys....i don't know what to say honestly.

But if a guy want to be a bronie fan i won't say its weird there so many different personalty .
Yes it was kinda rare to find a guy who like pony's so people may be mean about it , and yes i do agree people must stop being mean to bornie guys fan's.

<3333 BTW this post was not writing in a good why  with some bad grammar sorry ;o;

farmboy8 : Alright, I can go ahead and close this for you, and to also avoid fanbase vs. anti-fanbase arguments in the future.
