I'm trying to come up with a playlist that I can listen to while I am working out in the gym because I don't like the Dubstep/Pop stuff they play that everyone seems to like. I like listening to fast heavy metal while I work out like Trivium and Slayer but I still need a couple more songs to complete it. If anyone has an suggestions on songs that you work out to or songs that would be good to work out to in the Heavy Metal genre would post it, it would be awesome.

Just no slow parts in the song, but if there are then please make sure they are short and quick. I like going hard when I work out so I like listening to constant up beat heavy metal. Thanks

I would suggest Three Days Grace - Riot and Alter Brirge - Addicted to pain. I wold suggest AC/DC - Hells bells too because it justmakes me feel a cool guy, but it is a bit slow so maybe Back in black or War machine from AC/DC.

MoblinGardens :

So you like it fast but how melodic does it have to be?

Brigand : It does not matter at all. I just like a fast beat to keep me going.

It's not "Heavy Metal" (because I loathe heavy metal), but you may want to give a look to Ska-Punk bands like Less than Jake and Reel Big Fish. You say you don't mind melody, and that it needs a fast beat, and both bands have more than their share of quick beats and hard hitting horns.

Warning, both bands can come off as a little poppy at times, but I don't think it's a bad poppy. I also don't care for pop, but enjoy their most upbeat moments all the same.

I tried to make this long and beautiful list with links to each song, but after my post got destroyed twice I decided just to make a simple list of songs and let you search for them. They can all be found at Youtube

* Mastodon: The wolf is loose (If the drum-intro doesn't hit you I don't know what will)
* Meshuggah: Bleed
* Exodus: Piranha
* Megadeth: Take no prisoners AND Rust in peace... Polaris
* Sepultura: The wolf is loose
* Stam1na : Viisi laukausta päähän
* Venom : Black Metal

I don't think some of these are as fast as Slayer, but definitely heavy enough to get me pumped for work out.

(P.S. If you make long posts with many links save it to wordpad or some program often. I wasted nearly an hour listening through all my songs to ensure that Youtube had good versions of them, and then the whole reply vanished after I pressed delete at the wrong spot.)

MoblinGardens :

Well, uusretrohippi gave a pretty good list.

How about also some Napalm death, Ministry and Sadistik Execution?

I just now realized that I typed The wolf is loose twice on my list. What I actually meant second time was.

Sepultura : Troops of doom

Either way, I'm glad to hear that my list was appreciated.

Brigand also seems to have some pretty good suggestions, although I've never heard Sadistik Exekution. Name sounds pretty Death metalish, but that's just a good thing.

I think that Heavy Metal helps invigorate you for a workout, so it is probably good to work out to.
