Hello,

Most of you are here to probably try to prove me wrong,  and say that Call of Duty is better than Halo.
But wait!  Here is a fact, that proves there is no Best, or worst video game or video game console!

Opinions. So we all know that, everyone on this earth is different, right?  So that means some people will enjoy different things than others.
If no opinion is completely the same-because there aren't enough words in our dictionary to describe the details of the feelings in the opinion-
then, 'best', is the incorrect term to describe how much you favor a console.  Because video games are made to bring pleasure, we can agree that there are some bring more pleasure than others, but there will be something everybody likes.  And, because different consoles have different libraries,  you need to buy a console based on what games you want to play, that is why your buying it, right? 

And I don't mean which one can play Call of Duty- we're talking about games that people with actual opinions play!
You should play games because YOU enjoy them, not because Cnet gave them a good review, or because "That's what everyone is playing!"

I guess a game where you're in a small room, where only one kind of block is used to mark the borders, and your character has only three sprites that it cycles through as you make him walk back and forth, (but you can't jump) is just as good as Call of Duty then (.)

For a minute there I thought your user name was fanboy, I was going to say.

I think most people do play games they enjoy, the fact its got a good review doesn't come into it Past the initial purchase.
That being said, I believe battpefield is better than call of duty.
Im also thankfull for call of duty because it removes these people from my gaming experience.
The difference between cod and battlefield is like the difference between xbox360 and ps3.
The former is favoured by less experienced gamers, and my experience more annoying ones.
The later has a more mature audience and I dont have to deal with wide'os

Sword legion : Depends. Are you talking about a game of that description made today, or are you comparing modern console games like Call of Duty to the birth year of Atari games? If it is the first, I get your point. If you are saying Atari games are worse than Call of Duty, then that doesn't really work. You are comparing things from different time eras with completely different capabilities. Comparing apples and oranges kind of situation. But even still, best/worst is all based on opinion. You can't really say it is a fact that the game you described is worse than Call of Duty. You can say that to you, it is worse. But unless you get a tally from every living person on Earth stating their choice, then it is still just a matter of opinion. Might be a landslide majority opinion, but an opinion nonetheless. 

I agree with you. If you're playing what you enjoy, then that's what matters. A slightly faster processor does not mean that a console is "better".

That is your OPINION of what the most boring game in the world would be like!  But because you may think that, doesn't mean everyone else thinks that.  There are some basic things that people can agree on that make a, "good game", but still, someone else might think it's the worst thing in the world while others worship it.

Yeah, but that's just your opinion of my opinion. There is a reason you won't see a game like this on the self.

Yes, I was, but even a game like this wouldn't be able to compete with Atari games because you can't do anything in it. Unless maybe you were using NES style graphics vs Atari graphics and it was just a concept game of some sort so show people the next gen in graphics.

Well, don't get me wrong, I understand what you're saying, I'll never understand why people put so many hours into farmvil. (no honestly)
But we as humans all have similar interests. the games that sell the most are the ones that appeal to the most people's similar interests. AND don't ruin it with bad quality- like with a glitch that makes the game unbeatable. Yes there are lot's of different genres for each game, I understand that, and I don't think that you can just come out and say that this game is the best really easily. But If humans are designed to like certain things more, then certain games will sell more, and be higher appraised. Lot's of things contribute to what a populace wants in gaming,

Culture.

 - kinds of sports

 - kinds of environments

 - kinds of people

 - kinds of tools and items


Morals.

Religious core.

Scientific ideas.


And then you have all kinds of different ideas of what games are best based on genres and then after that individual taste and characteristics.

I we can't really say that one game is better that the rest because of different opinions, then we should say which game is better my morals, popularity, and quality.


And some systems are a little higher in quality than other systems. Doesn't mean that they're worth getting though if you don't like any games for that system. back in the day, I probably would have had a SNES rather than a Genesis, because I only like a few games for the Genesis other than sonic, although I might like to try the battle of Arakis, (whatever that RTS game was called based on Dune 2? Go Vectorman and Ristar.


Sega should totally make a modern, 3D vectorman and Ristar game, just call the game Ristar returns. I almost wish that Sega was still in the console race so that Nintendo would have more competition and they might strive for better games. Using the term better more generally.
