I have been around awhile and I seen other people profiles. They said trust points and a certain amount of it. I just wanted to know what trust points were and how do I get them. I know about the part being respectful to site staff, and other members, but is the not any other way. If there are feel free to state them. Thank you, and I got something to add as well. Do trust points change your rank depending on how much you get or do someone come around and promote you for doing well around the board.

To me it is a little complicated, and I want to learn as much on this website that I possibly can. Any suggestions. Thanks and have a nice vizzed day .

Mistress : So what exactly will happen if you ask for trust points, or bribe someone. And also does all ranks have to age restricted or is that only the upper ranks, like Local Moderator. These are some questions I want answered for me. Also thank you for asking, this will solve all my problems seeing that you are a Local Moderator yourself. Also If there was a thread that needed to be closed, but I can't close it myself what do I do too close that thread. Sorry for laying all these questions on you like this. It is just that the rules of this site are so interesting. I am super curious of what I need to know .

Usually, trusted members don't give out trust points to those who ask or bribe. They would report them to the mods or staff or whoever, and that would either result in you losing trust points (by the way, you can have negative points) or being temporarily banned.

Only upper ranks are restricted by age. Ranks like Newbie, Member, or Trusted can be of any age (I remember a 10 year old being in the trusted ranking, he was pretty well known). But the Site Staff, Local Moderators, have an age restriction of 13, I believe. While Global Moderators and up are 16. It actually says on the application itself about the age restriction thing.

As for elite status, I don't think there's an age restriction, but you would have to contribute a lot in order to obtain it. To give you an idea of how much work it takes, not every staff member gets the elite status for their work. So it takes a whole lot to get such status. And usually, they're long time members too.

Also, to be a moderator or staff, you would have to apply when there are openings. It's like getting a job, your chances of being hired when there aren't any openings are very, very low. Unfortunately, I don't think it's actually announced when there are openings, so you would have to look around the forums to see if David or any of the admins posted openings for those upper positions. Most likely in General Chat or Retro Game Room forums.

As for closing threads, if it is your thread that you would like closed, just summon the local moderators of that forum and request for it to be close. If it is someone else's thread you want closed, it (the thread) would have to be breaking the rules for the moderators to close it. Or if you have proof that the person who created that thread wants it closed, then you can show it to the mods and they'll most likely close it for you.

To summon the moderators of the forum, type Local Mods followed by a colon. For example,

You can tell if the summon worked if the Local Mods is bolded. Sometimes it won't work, though. Like the one above. If that happens, just PM Local Moderators and request for said thread to be close. The reason why I say that is because ranks below site staff can't double post. And summons do not work if you try to edit them in.

In all honesty, the Trust Point system has been turned into more of a popularity contest. It is very hard to try to regulate. Pretty much get to be friends with the well known people on the site, and it happens eventually.
