Yeah, I don't get to play in the car like I used to (Because I am almost always the one driving), but I tend to bring it along any time we visit the in-laws, or any time we make a doctor's visit.  I also get teased by my wife a little for playing it in the bathroom sometimes.

My twin boys rent quite old enough to be playing the Gameboy Advance yet, but I expect that they will be before too long.  We own four Gameboy Advances along with about 50 games (About half of them are mine, and the other half are kids games I've been finding cheap over the last couple of years.  I'm really looking forward to letting them play the Gameboy Advance during trips and discover many of the same games I loved growing up.

Here's to never outgrowing the games we love!

Oh man, where to start....where to start.

Well, according to some older individuals that I live with. My gaming addiction started with the PlayStation. The reason why with this particular system was because of my impaired motor skills due to Asperger's. I could not tell you what my first game was on the PlayStation, it was probably (you guessed it) Spyro. Unfortunately it was the second one that wasn't voiced by the Chihuahua from the Taco Bell commercials. However, since I was 6 or 7 years old, my only interest was the Boss Battles that were in games. OF course when I grew older, I have gained more interest in playing games. Of course, my interest got more and more into fantasy RPGs and of course our favorite Italian Plumber. Then I got into 100% the games I play as I got older and older, now I am so OCD that I got to complete the games with 100% completion...Thanks a lot, Kingdom Hearts II....

Well for me it all started when I was about 7. Right next to my school there was this retro video game arcade that I went to every other day, and from that moment on Mortal Combat and Street Fighter served as my adoptive parents. After beating all my friends for the millionth time, I kinda realized I had a knack for games.

I got my first handheld console (GBA) when I was 9, and my first two games (Spyro 2: Season of Flame, and Pokémon Ruby). From there on I was pretty much hooked on flashing screens and rapid button pushing.

Stararmor : On the grounds that I've known you since you were about my boy's age, I can confirm that the earliest games that you obsessed over were the original Spyro and the game Medievil.  It always used to crack me up that when your mom got stuck on one of them, she would hand you the controller to get her past the part in question, . . .

NVTaks : I know what you mean about the arcade titles!  I used to enjoy playing the old Mortal Kombat games in the arcade, but Street Fighter II ended up costing me a fortune during my childhood!  I think the only games I played more than that during my arcade days were Aliens vs Predator and Soul Edge (Yes the original one!)

GateKeeper_A : I'll go "old school" with you. Christmas 1982 - There was a brand-spanking-new Colecovision under the tree from Santa.

I'm not sure what, if any games that it came with but I distinctly remember playing several -

Zaxxon (My favorite)
Smurf - Rescue in Gargamel's Castle
Donkey Kong

GateKeeper_A :

All I remember is playing Sonic 1 on the Sega Genesis and dying over and over again at that one spot in act two where the ground keeps moving up and down.

Then I'd play Echo, in which I couldn't get passed level 3 because of my half hour time limit. I loved Echo, Sonic 1( but 2 so much) Bonanza Bros, and the Berinstate Bears. Since we had the Japanese cartridge of Sonic two, my dad had to cut off the sides to the cart in order to make it fit in our American Genesis. Not sure why they' make the cart's and system's different for each country if they're all made in China supposedly though. (unless I'm mistaken.

I almost want to play Echo again.

zerothesaint :

What you think?

Sword legion : If you have an xbox 360 or Playstation 3, you should take some time to look up "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection."  It has about 40-50 of the old Sega classics, including the first two Echo games, and Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 along with a LOT of other great old games (The early Phantasy Star games, the first three Golden Axe games, the Streets of Rage series, Altered Beast, and a host of other games I cant think of off the top of my head right now) .  Its probably my favorite game collection for my xbox 360.

It might be a good way to get your Sonic and Echo fix?

Heh,

I appreciate that!

My granparents already have it at their house too, but I'm afraid I have zero time nowadays for new games, as I have tiles to make for my PC game project- which is a retro themed game based on the glory days.

Thanks again though. ^^'

Gaming for me started a very very young age. It intially started with my dad giving me his old NES and copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt game. After that I got Mega Man, Castlevania, and Metroid. My gaming "career" for the most part started heavily on Mega Man. Later on I went to collecting multiple consoles and as many good games as I could, even in the handheld market as well with Pokemon and a bunch of other games.

To this day I spend time trying to recover old relic-type games that were once the big prime time spotlight ones in the gaming community but have been forgotten by time and a new generation of games and gamers. I take pride in playing old classic games and the one series I will always go back to without a second thought or guess is the original Mega Man NES series and Mega Man X from the SNES to the PS1.

My first game console was the PS1 well actually it was my Dad's but I played on it way more than him. He never owned an Atari, Sega or Nintendo. Anyway I always played the SNES at my friends house and my Uncle had a Sega Megadrive so I played that every time we went there on Sundays. Oh yeah my first video game. Well it was definitely PS1 Doom. Was that suppose to be scary because I was never scared of it. Really enjoyed blowing the ever loving CRAP out of the Demons I was only 5 when I first played it. Been a gamer ever since.

UFC : Xenogears, and the prequels in the Xenosaga series were Science Fiction RPGs that dealt with massive mechs that the characters piloted and had a heavy focus on ancient, powerful technology.  I thought that Xenogears was something really special, but I was significantly less impressed with the Xenosaga series.

zerothesaint : Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt?  I remember that combo game fondly!  The rest of your NES list looks like a who's-who of epic video games from that generation!

GateKeeper_A : For the most part it is. I had just the NES for quite awhile before I started getting other systems. I mean I also played other games that were "updated" and or brought forward onto later consoles like Pitfall for the NES. I was also a big NAMCO kid as well with Pac-man, Dig-Dug, Galaga, ect. I even own an Atari 2600 and a handful of games for it.

In truth, I could sit down and just play Pong for some odd hours if I really desire to on a specific day or something. I don't always need the newest and greatest things when it comes to video games. Some of the best ones usually come from one's childhood.

I think my addiction started when I could start playing by myself. When I was really really young it wasn't possible and I needed some help. When I was able to learn how to play a game by myself and didn't need any help..oh boy..I just played and played

UFC :
Xenogears is actually an rpg but with 3 battle systems.
1. Regular rpg battle systems with combo learning
2. Giant Robot rpg battle with combo
3. Giant Robot beat em up arcade style fighting in 3D!

The only shooting possible is in the 3D fighting arena.

I'm pretty sure my first system was a Play Station 2. As for my first game I'm not entirely sure, but the game that made the biggest impression on me & that I remember the most was Kingdom Hearts, & to this day I still love the KH games. The Pokémon games also helped get me into gaming.

My first console was a Nintendo Famiclone, a.Terminator 2. My first game was Mario... or Mario Bros (the two player koopa hunting). But I was more focused on Double Dragon III.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
