You know what I f***ing don't get?
Everyone knows how big the Sonic Franchise is, it could have some of the biggest fanboys in the gaming industry.
But the thing that really pisses me off is how a bunch of fast furries get so much attention that there's comics off it. Discussion on voice dubs for it and that Recolor bulls*** and of course the games.

But many games I like don't get such a fanbase like this. Look at Outcast (IMO, the most underrated game of all time) that game should have a big fanbase unlike a blue furry who has sucked for the last 5 years.

Your thoughts?

I wholeheartedly agree. There are many amazing games that are waaaaaaaaaaay underrated, and retarded games that have huge franchises. I really don't understand it at all though, it makes no sense! People must be getting stupid if they think Sonic is the greatest franchise of all time. I have no grudge against the Sonic franchise but come on. I can think of 20 games 10 times better than those. Usually I try to ignore the stupid overrated games, and just deal with it, and play my games. Whether they be underrated or not.

Yeah Sonic isn't too great anymore because they still make it almost the same just with better graphics.
But nowadays everyone expects games to be 3D with awesome graphics and have it all realistic.

I feel the same way about Halo. Its a generic FPS with no real attributes to make it stand out from the crowd except its raving fanboys.
And it makes game devs lazy because they know they can get away with making a s***ty game because there are plenty of idiots that will buy their product.
While back before Microsoft was in this market ruining things game devs had to think things through properly and make great games because, lets face it, game fans were alot more discerning and wouldnt put up for the lackluster garbage we get now.
Oh sure there are a few titles being released that show promise, but they dont get the attention they deserve and fade into obscurity behind the fanatic crys of jocks.

Also I'll be moving this to VG Controversy.

Sonic is overrated. Not that they aren't good, but it's too much flair and not enough substance if you ask me. Plus, the 3D sonic games have finicky controls and a retarded camera system that likes to spas out.

I even hate the 2-d games. There is nothing to it, it's just running, jumping on things and getting coins. There is no plot to it, and it's really easy. If they don't fix the Sonic series, he should be put to rest.

That's sorta the point. They wern't made to be games with a plot or anything, they are platformers...
If one says there is no plot in the 2D Sonic games one could say the same about the Mario games.
Mario is "rescue the princess, beat Bowser", Sonic is "rescue the animals, beat Robotnik".
They are pretty much the same.

I really like Sonic, but recently the games are terrible and don't have any Character depth. If you have seen Sonic and the black knight, they screw up the ring system, make Shadow look like an idiot with armor, and Spaz history.
