Howdy forum.  I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations for games to play along the lines of the rpg/tactical formats.  Check my profile to see what I already have in my queue, and add in suggestions as you come up with them, please.   Most of what I have in my profile, I've already beaten way back in the day on the consoles that ran them, so I'm just having trouble keeping interest in most of them.

Thanks in Advance,
Dan

If you do not have them in your profile. I recommend playing the Mega Man and Mega Man X games. Those games are very fun and I enjoy them. Some players here have created hacks which are also very good. I also recommend playing Donkey Kong for Super Nintendo and Yoshi's Island.

I think you should play the mega man or mother series.. they are both really great gaming series to play and I'm sure you would like both of them. I wasn't so sure about them at first but after I tried it.. I loved it!

The "Mother" Series, Earthbound (which is by the same people), Pokemon hacks such as Fuligin, and Dark Rising 2 (a couple of my absolute favorites) and the Mario games Those are my recommendations. Especially the Mother and Earthbound games I'd recommend playing Earthbound before Mother, though. Hope to hear from you about what you think of them

For RPG and Tactical, I would highly recommend Lufia - the ruins of Lore for the GBA. I found this game yesterday, and I'm already addicted. The reason I recommend it so strongly is because for months now I have been looking for a good turn based RPG, as I used to love them, but (no offense to FF fans) after playing parts of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 2, I lost all interest in almost all RPG's, as i so strongly disliked those two. Finally after probably over a year, I found Lufia - The Ruins of Lore while searching for a new game to play, and it made me fall in love with Turn Based RPG's again, and restored my faith in the genre.

I also recommend Dragon Stomper for the Atari 2600 (if it's working on here now). It's a simple but perfect little turn based RPG from back in the day. I wonder if it isn't the first Video Game RPG. Probably not, but it's the oldest that I know of.

Finally, I recommend Tales of Phantasia for the GBA. It's more Action RPG though, but the battle mechanics are great once you get them down.
