My question is this.
Are you still going to make or have you made that triple triad DS game?

What is the difference between game development and web development backend wise? I heard in game programming it is a bunch of 0's and 1's that how it works? And what will you be doing exactly because game developer can be a lot of things

Hi Bigbob, after you finish your degree, where are you hoping to get a job, will you go overseas if offered?

@DarkHyren, maybe . Would be good experience and everything . Just need time.

@JigSaw, games programming is alot different. Web development, your mainly focused on security and speed, but you also have to consider other processes that are running (mail server, FTP server.. ect ect).
Games programing is about making your code that smooth that you can keep it at 60FPS though everything, and you want to suck ALL the recources out of everything (Especialy with consoles).
You also have ALOT of different components, you have physics engines, graphics engines, sound engines, game logic, play interaction. So its alot more to handle at once.
Programicly though, its same as writing anything, just using whatever languages you use for that game.
Industry standards are usualy C and C++.

@Solehite, I'll probably be getting a job in Melbourne (city I live in). Would love to work in japan though, it would be VERY hard to get a job there. Maybe in America... But most propbably stay in Aus. Games industry here needs talented maths/physics people (which I like to think I am), so I will have little to no trouble getting a job.

@joebab, Doing my last 6months now, then im fully qualified to go work, but I think I'll stay an do honours, do some tutoring, make some indie games.
Also, not really, too active, just thought I'd post it.

3 years for the standard degree.
an extra year for a honors degree.
