Do you like your war games to be more big picture (you decide where troops go, alliance, and direct the game) or do you like to be controlling a character fighting in the war?

I love bigger picture, strategy-oriented war games. I find them more fun and I feel like it's more a battle of the mind than of reflexes with the keyboard. What about you? Fighting or Strategy?

I like Strategy better it gives it more of a spark and I spend way more hours playing Strategy based war games than I do Fighting.. I do enjoy both of them but I like that extra detail and time consume in my war games.

Both of these are equal aspects in my opinion. I enjoy integrating strategy into games like Call of Duty or Halo, really fast paced fighting. Maybe I'll throw a shock charge and claymore at a door, or jump out the window then come back up the building's flank. However, action and combat are really what attracts me to the game in the first place. I like both in a game.

deg2000 : I admit, I hadn't thought about that.

In a way, fighting -does- require strategy. Considering that, the basis of this thread itself comes into question.

Perhaps there's a better way to phrase it than 'Fighting vs Strategy'?
