This game will always be close to my heart. BUT from an actual non-biased standpoint, I will say that for it's time, this game is really REALLY good. Now if you hate Castlevania then no, it's not, but if you enjoy games in general you might like this.
The game's graphics are.. Well, dated, of course, but not too bad. Not that big of a pain to the eyes.
The gameplay is rather fun, but the camera is absolute garbage some of the time, and can make fighting hard.
Boss battles, depending on the difficulty level chosen, are actually difficult to face,
and the storyline is actually kind of cool, especially in this 3D world.
It's a dark story, a dark game, and overall just pretty dark in terms of what it is.
The two characters you can play as are both equally fun in their own ways, though Reinhardt was especially fun.
Mainly due to the whip, honestly.
The monsters range from being easy to a pain in the rear, and again, bosses range depending on the difficulty chosen - Though usually they'
re just a pain anyway. They're bosses.
The endings you can get in the game are interesting, and the levels are nice and fun to view.
The sound could be better, but it's still nice, and the Main Menu theme is a lovely melody that always sticks in my head when I hear it.
Sound effects are fine and nothing too special to note.
Depth.. It's deep, but not too deep.
The difficulty - Again, varies, but is generally hard due to the camera and the controls.
Overall, really, I recommend giving it a try. If you don't like it that's fine, but it's a game I fondly remember and play to this day.
