I don't know about you but I think this is completely ridiculous if this case is sucessful I would lose some faith in the civil law system.

The sons got him struck of the English medical register, I am not sure if they sued him at the time or not but I don't think they could now if they haven't already.

It's not right for the family to call him a killer and charlatan in public. I don't think they should be trying to ruin his life further when his medical career is down the drain. It was incredibly immature of them to pull this stunt and if the legal system is unbiased, then he'll likely win the suit. They did, in fact, disrupt his conference.

That being said, he is going to jail for nine months for manslaughter. I would have hoped that it wasn't a delayed sentence and the penalty worse. I don't like him, but he is a doctor and might be able to contribute to the medical field in other ways besides medical practice. I don't see, in the scope of things, how leaving another person unemployed will make the situation any better.

In other words, I'm not jumping on the media bandwagon.

it was his fault he killed the guy. as a doctor he shouldnt be guessing about things like this, which he obviously was, he should either know this stuff by heart, or be like any american doctor and carry around a reference pad for these kinds of things. he should be charged with straight up murder, and exiled to a deserted island to live the last of his days.
