I chose education, got a degree, and did something completely different.  I think you should put a lot of time into what you're interested in.  You shouldn't pick military, for example, if you're not willing and ready to fight, kill, and die for whichever flag represents your home.  You also shouldn't pick accounting if you don't like excel and you're not into numbers.

I'd go engineering.  It will always have demand and you can be an engineer anywhere in the world.  Every country speaks math and math is the same around the planet.  It's translatable and you'll always find work somewhere.

I choose engineering, since it's a professional degree and would allow me to get a fairly good paying job after college and keeps the door open for most other degrees: PhD, Medical, Law, Business. 

It's a hard path but definitely rewarding.
