In your opinion, what makes an anime good or bad? Addictive or a "once in a while" watch?

For me, I can't watch anime unless I really like the protagonist. If I don't like the main character by the first episode I don't watch any more. It's a a weakness because I'm sure I'm missing good anime, but it has made it so that when I like an anime I love watching it.

Depends on wether you mean Anime as in Japanese shows or like Pokekon. Japanese shows - no idea. Never watched one. Pokemon and other things like it - I tend to like amines like pokemon because of the facepalm kinda moments, when they say ( or do )something either mind numbingly stupid, or, like Dora the Explorer, most of the answers are amazingly obvious from the start. For Manga I've only read the first two books of the series "Death Book/Note" ( may translate differently), and I liked it because of the pace that it went at, and the fact that it was the first manga book I'd read and it was wierd reading it from the "back" of the book to the "front"

I look for famous voice actors and actress because if you hear a famous voices, someone like Mike McFarland or Colleen Clinkinbeard did the English script writing and ADR. I find it helps to look for these things so one can dumb down there search for good anime.

I like anime with interesting, ongoing story. It's nice for them to not be gruesome (like Attack on Titan) because I'm actually a bit squeamish. Comedy is great, too.
