Definitely. I think that schools make bullying out to be a lot worse than it actually is. Especially cyber bullying. I mean really, just delete the text. Nothing is forcing you to open it. I understand that bullying is a problem, but not as big as it is made out to be.

Yes.. and no in some cases. I have been bullied every sense I was about 8 years old. I think that sometimes people do over due it especially with cyber bullying because it makes sense for why you wouldn't just erase the text and move on but I understand how they feel because reading something hurtful or hearing something hurtful to you from the bullies is really hard. I have been through a lot and some cases I think bullying is looked into to much but others I just think it's good because many kids are hurting out there or have been for a long time.

I don't thinks so. I haven't seen any event in my school about the anti-bullying.

There are a bunch of schools, including mine, who care a lot about bullying and make all of it way worse then it is. It isn't just like once a month talking about it or something, but it is every day doing SOMETHING with it. IF you want to wear out some kids, talk to them about bullying.

tgags123 : I personally disagree with the cyber bully remark. I think that is a huge problem. It isn't just a matter of deleting a text. Most cyber bullying comes from social networks, not texts. Someone with a Facebook profile can get constant verbal assault 24/7 from their peers. They get publicly humiliated constantly. The bad thing about it is that no authority has any power over it. A kid can't get in trouble at school for something they are doing at home. If a parent doesn't punish the kid, then they are free to ridicule, dehumanize, and humiliate someone at will. So they only solution for that kid is to cut all ties from electronic contact, just making them outcast in their own peer community. Cyber bullying is not something to take lightly as 'they should delete the text'.

One problem I see a lot is people saying that a kid can just shrug it off or ignore it. Well that is fine and dandy for the ones who say that because they clearly have enough self esteem to do so. But imagine for a second that that is your life. Everyday you are chipped at by everyone around you until you get to the point where you believe that none of your peers care about you. Imagine you don't really get much moral support at home with that. Someone with self esteem can easily shrug something off or get over something. But someone with no self value literally cannot. Everything is taken to heart. Ignoring things is not something they can do because they have little to no self esteem to deflect what is said or done to them. Part of the teaching program at my college was looking extensively into bullying. There was a psychological study done on kids who were in prison or institutions for school shootings. I watched interviews with over a dozen of these kids. Each and every one of them had one thing in common. They were socially ridiculed, humiliated, teased, and outcast by their peers. For a lot of the things that happened in school, the administration and teachers did little to nothing about it. Outside of school, the parents did nothing about it. So 24/7, these kids were getting targeted for torment. Over half the time, it wasn't even physical bullying. They weren't getting beat. Just tormented ALL THE TIME.

If it were just a couple of them that had this in common, that is one thing. But of the over dozen that were interviewed, ALL of them had that in common. That can't be ignored.

Bullying is not something you can overdo. For those who aren't bullying others or don't personally see it happening, that's fine. You might not personally need it. But you can not make too big a deal about this. I can almost guarantee you that every school that became victim to a shooting was not expecting that to happen. Most of them would have claimed that bullying was not a problem in their building. But kids don't target their school for such an act for nothing. Those events are never spur of the moment decisions. Every major one was planned over a long period of time and was given preparation. That kind of plotting is not something a kid just decides to do. They are pushed to those means.

Everyone who has posted here so far has said they overdo it. I bet your voice would change if your school became such a victim.
