        Okay, I've had braces on my uppercase set of teeth for quite a while now, and I'm completely fine with it; I sometimes even forget they're there! But, today I went to the dentist and got another set of braces on my lowercase set of teeth, and the pain is, well... unbearable. I can't deal with this, it's simply agonizing! And I have a high tolerance for pain, too! That's how bad it is. It aches so much, and I don't know what to do! Any tips on reducing the pain? Replies are appreciated very much, so thank you in advance. I will try to stick to soup and other soft foods for now...

NintendoFanKimmy : Well I have never had braces ( I'll probably need some though ) so I don't have any advice on how to ease the pain. Yuo can go to that dream world you said you drift off to and forget about the pain . And avoid Popped Corn and other foods that might get stuck in ur braces because I think they are a pain to clean.

He, when I first got my braces, I didn't eat for days, and every time they made them tighter, I didn't eat that night.
I usually take pain relief Before going to the orthodontist, that way, I won't have to worry about the pain.
Trust me I know how you feel about that pain :/

At the same time, I just try to eat less food and eat food that wouldn't bother my teeth so much, like soup. Try to take a pain relief for now to see if it gets less painful, and stick to soft food for now.

I had them three to four years ago and I remember the pain. It will hurt every time they tighten it. Eventually you will get used to it and it won't be so bad, so don't worry.

Of course, soft food will be better, but definitely ask your parents for some pain killer, such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
