Seriously i can get Angry Birds star wars on my phone for 99 cents why do they charge an insane amount of money for the Console and handheld version of angry birds. Reminds me of Minecraft for consoles its $20 for a game that doesnt even have half the things on the pc version

I don't know. I'm just a kid. Maybe they just want more money than they make on the original form.

Even though I hardly play angry birds, I would much rather pay 99 cents rather then 40 bucks just for a few "extra levels" as they advertise on the cover. This is just too horrible! Think of all the money kids are probably wasting getting this game!

Rovio wants to get some of that console money. They know that the birds are more like cash cow birds than angry ones at this point. I could almost understand Angry Birds Trilogy's price, but less so for a standalone Star Wars one.

While I can see that this is a rip off, I can actually understand the price increase. See, I and some friends are working on our own games now, and we currently have two different platforms that we want to release on, however since one of the platforms costs a substantial amount more (among other factors, like being able to sell advertisement space in one, but not the other), we will be making one free and charging for the other one.

Basically, releasing on a console costs a great deal more than releasing on an Android or iPhone, and since they couldn't know how popular it would be on a console, and they have to split the money they make with other companies when releasing for a console, they charged a high price so they could cover production costs even if it flopped. It makes sense, but it's still outrageous to expect that much for it. In the end, I guess it's only a rip off if you buy it and don't enjoy it $39 worth more than the mobile version. Some people will, and some won't. I respect Rovio for this move honestly.

I agree that the game seems incredibly expensive. However, their motive is to get a profit, so they probably they had enough Angry Bird enthusiasts who would pay the price (especially considering $40 is what I find many video games for when I'm browsing for them at Walmart). 
I'm sure that most who are addicted to the game wouldn't mind spending the money for a version on other consoles. The people who buy it won't care that it's a rip off and those who do will stick with the version on their phones or steer clear of the game altogether (which is what I do).
