Skyward Sword
Prologue

A terribly long time ago, the earth cracked,
and evil forces escaped from the fault. These forces attacked and slaughtered
the people of the earth without mercy, and destroyed their beloved land. They were
doing this in their search for the ultimate power. The ultimate power was
capable of making any wishes or dreams of its holder come true. Passed down
from the gods of old, this power was guarded by Her Grace, the goddess. The
goddess rounded up the remaining humans on a small chunk of earth and sent it
skyward, beyond the clouds. Knowing that the people were safe from harm, the
goddess, Hylia, teamed up with the land dwellers and fought against the forces
of evil in a war of ridiculous scale and ferocity. Eventually, the evil forces
were sealed away, and peace was restored to the surface. However, Her Grace
decided to leave the humans in the sky on their piece of land called Skyloft.
She knew the barrier on evil would not hold for eternity.
