I didn't see a thread about this so I guess I will make the first.

For all you who don't know what Steven Universe is it is about a kid called Steven, I would have never guessed, and 3 Crystal Gems called Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. They all fight mystical creatures and save the world. That's basically the gist of it.

To me, it think it has real Potential to be a GOOD show ( and I'm not just saying that because it has Rebecca Sugar). I like how Steven is a NORMAL kid, not like Finn or anything. Of course the show already had a stop because of Christmas but you can view the first 7 episodes either on the Internet or on TV.

What are you thoughts on this show? Likes? Dislikes?

I have to say it depends on if they evolve the story line.  It has a potential for a good storyline or it can go down hill if they don't do anything with the story.  In my view it sits between Adventure Time (which I love) and Regular Show (Which is sub par for my taste).

Though it does depend on what a person likes people do like different shows so I want you all know this is just based on my likings.

It's decent. not the best, but not at all bad. I'd like to see if it takes the throne over something like Adventure Time (not likely for me). I got a few chuckles from the show, but no laugh-out-loud humor was found for me. I also found quite a bit of the dialog dumb, but it doesn't affect the show too much.

 To be honest, I don't really like this show and I think it can be a little "childish" at times. If all of my favorite shows were gone, I would just have to deal with watching this one. So in my opinion, I don't really like it.

This show can improve though.

I can't tell if the simplicity is to not overload kids’ heads so they're free
to go wild with their imagination, or because of the budget.



Having only watched one of its latest episodes, as it was convenient at the
time, I don't have the most informed view the entire show.
But I've seen the fans take what SU has even further, fan-comic strips, their
favourite highlights from an episode, head canon and light hearted
discussion, it's pretty amusing and cool.

It's not for me, but I love the cute stuff that goes on with the little community it has online.
