So I jumped on pokemon red for my gameboy color today. I decided I would try out the slot machines and see if I could get 9999 tokens for that fabled porygon. I started with a measley 50 coins and saved the game just in case I ran across a stroke of bad luck. I ran into bad luck pretty quickly so just I turned off my game so I could have a new start. I then rinsed and repeated the process 15 times only to end up with zero coins every single time.
If anybody knows some special method you can use to beat the slot machines I would greatly appreciate your knowledge. Please and thank you

Each slot machine gives out different odds, so its partly luck in finding a good machine and partly skill in pressing the button at the right time.
Watch what picture is displayed when you press the button and see what pic you end up gettings when they stop and you should be able to guess the correct picture to press the button on.
Just keep trying and you'll get better at it

I think the best thing to do is just to buy the coins. That's what I've done on several occasions. The only problem is that you can only buy 50 at one time and it gets SO boring.

Sadly enough, the slots in the game are nearly as accurate as the one's in real life. (Not that I've played the slots in real life, I just know people who have lost a LOT of money on the slots.) However, amazingly enough, luck may just be a factor.

Which is why I was very, very happy when the latter games allowed you to buy coins in greater batches. Still cost a ton of money (500 coins = price for 50 coins multiplied by 10.).
