This is my first time playing metroid I'm still at the beginning I just beat the 2ed boss a (plant face)

You're probably at the spot fans have dubbed A bridge too far or The N00b bridge

What you should do is hold down the dash-button (B if I recall correctly) and run over the bridge so fast that the bricks won't have time to crumble under you.
Keep playing the game, it's definitely worth it.
