one doesn't learn from someone how to play, one learns it himself. The best thing I can tell you is to punish yourself with NES and SNES and GBA games until you are good enough to smoke every other game.

XD I used to have skill and my grandmother coached me into beautiful skill....I need somebody with courage and guts to lead me into my 2nd gaming glory.....who will it be?! I used to beat mario 3 without warp whistles....but my skills are lacking for some odd reason. I used to be a gaming demigod. Able to beat OOT without trying. Easy peasy one two threesy on the mario. Sonic my expertise. But I have lost my skill. Again vizzed...I beg of you all. A coach I need! A good gamer to root me on at the very least. COME ON!

But I wouldn't use Super Mario 3 without whistles or OoT as measure of skill to 'demigod', as those (though very popular games) are very easy to beat (even without whistles). You would be better off saying you beat NES Battletoads easily with no cheats, NES Ninja Gaiden without losing a single continue, or could get through Ghosts n Goblins (the whole thing) in under 10 minutes.

Manic, they are right. You don't have someone teach you how to play a game well, it just takes time and determination. I mean the only real time you can have someone properly train you in game is when you have a friend teach you some combos in a fighting game when you get it for the first time or have someone explain how guns work in a newer game or something along these lines. But it won't make you a pro gamer instantly, that's why practice is fundamental, so if I were you I would just keep on practicing and working on your skills that way, it'll become so much easier over time once you start really getting the ropes of things.
