I wouldn't be surprised if she stops contributing. One of the problems with group projects is that if even one person doesn't contribute, then the rest of the group has to work harder. It is things like group projects that made me ultimately stop caring about school.

The only thing you can do if you've given her every chance to contribute is to talk to the person who assigned the project about the girl not adding anything to the group. They will likely respond better if they themself chose the group... I've found that when the students choose the groups, that the professors tend to be less sympathetic towards inactive students. "You wanted to work with them, this is your punishment."

It's possible she has something going on in her life if she hasn't answered you, and her attendance is shaky at best. If she's a friend, keep pestering her, and try to figure out what's going on with her, since she's clearly been unable to help. She may actually have a good excuse, which could help sway the professor into not punishing you for something that is basically happenstance.

As for the project, since she's unlikely to help, the rest of the group will have to step up their game. You "may" be able to get an extension due to the circumstances, but you can't count on it. Just do your best.

Hmm... that's why I hate group projects... in that case, the only thing you could do is to do your best with the other group members to finish the project on due date, and then tell your instructor/teacher about that friend who didn't help you guys at all with the project. Maybe that'a just me, but I always tell our professors when a group member is being lazy even if that someone's a close friend of mine. So my friends know they can't be lazy when they have me with their group, no excuses.

I have had this happen to me several times. The best advice I could give you is to report him . Especially if you do the entire project yourself and he doesn't even help. Either that or just do the best you can with the other members.
