I just bought a Dreamcast from a friend and i tried to hook it up to my Bravia LCD TV. Using the RCA AV cable i was able to get the sound working, but the picture is in black and white. Does anyone know how to fix this issue or know of a specific product that could help me out.

When you say RCA AV cable, are you talking about the standard Red, White, and Yellow? If not, do that. I could not get it to work properly by trying to hook it up with those more specific 5 plugin cords. Just stick with the original Red, White, Yellow outlets. That is the only way my Dreamcast works on my flat screen (it is an LCD)

It is the Red, White, Yellow cable. The red and white work where they are but there isn't a yellow plugin on the back and the only one the yellow will work in is the green plugin.

The yellow should work in the green plug, as that is how my TV works. Do you have any problems like this when connecting any other consoles or devices into the same ports? If you do, its probably a problem with your TV's ports. If they don't, then there is probably something wrong with the AV cables or the Dreamcast itself.

It turns out that because my TV was digital, the Dreamcast wouldn't work properly. I went to Radio Shack and they said That I would need a RF Modulator. Apparently the older systems; N64 and older, possibly PS2; need a RF Modulator to work on digital TVs. If you still use a analog TV you should be fine.

You know, I was thinking about making the same thread. When I plug my Sega Dreamcast into my new flat screen tv the Sega Dreamcast logo will come up and it will boot up the menu screen but it wont ready any games, I can move it over to my old tv and it will read the game with out missing a beat. So yeah, I am no help. I have the same kinda problem.
