I figure it would be respectful to make this thread. If you haven't heard the news yet chef Charlie Trotter was found dead in his home. Although I disliked the man very openly and called him an ash***e several times and said several other things. But no one deserves an early death regardless of how horrid a person you are with a few exceptions (Hitler being one). The man was a visionary and brought haute cuisine to the forefront in America and was an inspired molecularist. His food was something beyond art even though most people left his restaurant still hungry it was art and should be remembered for that. So I sit here with a shot of moonshine typing this and I cannot escape the need to make a toast. So here is to you Charlie Trotter. I hope you are looking down on the culinary world you crazy bastard. Rest in peace Charlie you were only as good as your last plate and that last plate was damn good.
