Global Moderators : If I save my state with F2 in Majora's mask, will I then be able to quit and rejoin and still have my progress, rupees, and masks/items?

Yes, F2 does Save-state. F4 loads. This save file is created and stored on the computer you made it from, so if you try to play from another computer you will need to take that save file with you to continue your game on that computer.

Save states allow you to save at any point in the game, so in that respect it works better than in-game saves. I advise to ALWAYS save state to ensure you have your progress. Sometimes saving in game doesn't work right.
