This would probably be more..applicable and have more of a "vintage" feel to it if we were like 60 years old, but what the heck.  Just post a pic of your first vehicle.  Not your grandma, mom or dad's car that you borrowed.  Your very first car / motorbike / bicycle / bus / skateboard that you bought with your own (bank's ) money to get around.  You can also maybe add why you chose that mode of transport for yourself, memories that went along with it etc.  It would be great if you have the actual pic of the vehicle you owned.  If not, just Google an image of something similar and post it.  I would've liked to post my pic right now, but it's on my home PC, so I'll wait for the next round.  OK, go.

Ah a good ole 1988 Toyota Cressida, they don't even make em' anymore.  Mine was silver.  Hours of hard labor paid for that car, and Pizza Hut helped.

fightorace :  Ah yes.  That was an awesome car back in the day even though it looks like a brick now  I wonder what took it's place?  The new Corolla?  On the other hand, Corolla's were always around.

From what I understand the Cressida was supposed to be like a high-end Corolla but there wasn't enough demand for a "high-end" Corolla so they phased it out.

fightorace :  This is interesting.  I had a quick check on Toyota's website and the only car that falls in the "high-end" sedan category is their Avalon, which I have never heard of since we don't get those in our country.  The Camry has been discontinued for almost 10 years now, so the only high-end Toyota sedan we get in our country is the Corolla.  I think that's enough about Toyota for now.

I bought my first car in 2011, a 1994 Ford Escort wagon. It's actually still sitting in the driveway because I sold it to my roommate two months ago! I couldn't count all the trips and memories I made in that little car, but with 230,000 miles on it now, I needed something a little bit more reliable, and it just so happened I was able to buy a 2002 Suzuki Esteem from my grandmother, with half the miles on it, because she was getting too old to drive and had her license taken away by the state of Oregon. Best part is that I only paid $900 for it! My roommate was happy to take the Ford Escort because she didn't own a vehicle.

I don't have a picture, but my first car was a copper color Ford Mustang II.  It was a really good car for me to start out with (Even survived a couple of minor car accidents.).  I put a lot of miles on that little car, with very few problems over the years.  I drove it for about 10-12 years before selling it to a friend who needed a reliable source of transportation.  I moved on to a slightly newer vehicle, and the old Mustang II held up for a few more years.  Once my friend was done with it, I wanted to buy it back, but his wife sold it to a wrecking yard first, so what was a bit of a bummer.

I wish I had a picture but I had a 1986 ford 150 xlt 4 wheel drive. It was a true ''hillbilly'' 3 diffrent shades of green bed was rotted to hell and back, the roll bars were held in place with ratchet straps and the tail gate was wood drilled into the bed to keep the sides from waving in the wind. I miss it so bad it was fun time in that thing

SoL@R : Good lord, man, do you know how old this thread is? I completely forgot about this thing.

No, I got into an accident while I was in the Army, stationed in Hawai'i. And what sucks is that I just finished having $1,000 worth of stuff added to the car over the past 2 months when that happened.

Well let me bring this thread out for a dust off and put in my own first car. This would a copy of a picture of the first car I ever had ( my car was actually a darker red ) . 1964 Chevy Biscayne. The car ran like a dream and I had no problems picking up girls in it. The lot where I went to get my first car had a lot of older cars available but this one stood out to me price wise and just for sheer room because of all the friends I had constantly wanting to ride with me. We did do some tweaking to the car to give it a more muscle car type feel and look ( for personal ego of course ). Got a lot of fond memories of this car and the times I had using it. Only bad memories I have about the car was the amount of times it was in the shop getting minor stuff fixed ( rarely seemed to be anything major going wrong ).

If I had the car I really wanted I would get one of two cars : a 1970 or 71' Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible with a 426 cubic inch hemi. Or a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 with an LS6 upgrade for the 440 cubic inch engine. Don't matter what the color is on them .. could be bright pink or puke green for all I would care. lol
