Well I use Windows XP, and I have my whole life, so I think it is hard. It is WAYYY different and it might take a little getting used to. If you are computer savvy though, you should be able to learn in no time!

I have a Windows 8 laptop (upgraded to 8.1 this past Friday), an from my experience there isn't much difference between 7, 8 and 8.1 other than navigation. These differences can make or break your enjoyment. At first I used third-party applications to avoid Windows's Modern UI, but after I upgraded to 8.1 I decided to try working without them. The biggest hassle I have with the Modern UI is that I can't close applications the typical way. You know, moving my cursor to the top of the screen and throwing the page down and away? That does not close the app, that only puts it in the background. I have to go into the task manager, which by the way still opens you up to the classic desktop even when you get to it through the Modern UI, and end tasks there. This format is a bit of an inconvenience for some like me who plays PC games and only has 4 GB of RAM. Still, that's all it is to me right now, and inconvenience. Things could have been a lot worse.

I have a windows 8 laptop and it is awesome. I use it all day, and it is very fast and fluid. You can trust it. You will be able to get used to it in a nick of time.
