I would say if you have the right console than FF7 would be your choice but if you want to play on Vizzed than FF3/6.

Hopefully you started playing a game from the Final Fantasy series by now?

I'd say start with the 1st one since it's the most basic. Then from there, you could probably jump up to FF4-7 (FF2 is great, but 'leveling' is a drastically different mechanic in that game, and I've yet to play FF3 myself). All in all, every game up to at least FF10 is a solid title that is well worth getting into when you have the time.

Each game tells its own story. You can't go too wrong with any of them. Personally, I really like FF 12, because the battles are no longer turn based. Great story, too.

I'm not sure if this thread's still relevant, but here's my opinion anyway. I'd suggest to start with Final Fantasy IV on SNES. Especially if you're playing the English version, which was called Final Fantasy II. That version of the game is extremely easy, plus you still get to experience one of the best RPGs on the Super Nintendo.
