Hello Random Reader! You must be here for the Guide right? Okay, this time I will be helping you in battling Gym Members and Leaders, I will also give you the ways to get to the Gym Leaders. For those who really don't know whats a Gym and a Gym Leader is, I'll explain it to you. Gym is a building or facility where Pokemon trainers go to try and obtain a specific badge, all Gym needs a Gym Leader. And a Gym Leaders are trainers who hold their own badges and are the one who gives you badge if you beat them in a battle, they are also often the one who takes care of their Gyms. What are badges you say? Badges are like tickets that is needed to be able to qualify for the pokemon league and battle the Elite Four. And that would it I guess.. Lets start the Guide already. Gym #1 Pewter Gym The first gym! This is where you will test your pokemon(s) if you are really worthy in having a pokemon journey and being the best pokemon trainer. This Gym would be very easy if you chose Squirtle or Bulbasaur as your starter because of the elemental advantage. Just keep attacking Brock's Pokemons with either Vine Whip or Bubble. But if you chose Charmander, you will have a hard time in winning his badge. You should first train him to learn Metal Claw which is good against rock pokemon. Members: Camper Geodude Lv10 Sandshrew Lv11 Beating this guy wouldn't be that hard, just use attacks that has an advantage to ground and/or rock pokemons like water or grass. Using an electric pokemon would be really dumb. Leader: Brock Geodude Lv12 Onix Lv14 Brock's geodude isn't really strong, take it down with 2-4 attacks by using either grass or water moves. Onix, this is Brock's best pokemon. But this would be a trouble if you have Squirtle or Bulbasaur. You could also use Mankey's fighting attacks to beat this guy. Mankey is located at route 22, near the entrance to the Victory Road. Gym #2 Cerulean Gym Now this is a beauty! The best gym so far. With a pool, and.. uhm.. nothing else. Oh! This has strong trainers as well. This gym focuses on water types, so bulbasaur users would have an easy time getting through this gym. But Squirtle wont be able to beat this gym all by himself, same goes for charmander. If you picked Squirtle/Charmander, you should go find an oddish and level it up until you get desired level. And give it another try. Maybe the results this time would change. Members: Swimmer Horsea Lv16 Shellder Lv16 Trainer Goldeen Lv19 A battle with this two would be a piece of cake. You should have a grass type with you for an easy win. Be carefull with goldeen though, because it can cause confusion to your pokemons and it also knows a flying type attack that beats grass easy! Leader: Misty Staryu Lv18 Starmie Lv21 Pretty name isn't it? Also, this girl has a pretty face. But behind that pretty face lies a pretty strong determination and skills. You wont be having a hard time battling this girl if you either have grass type and/or electric type. Be careful with her water pulse attacks, that could be dangerous. After beating her, she will award you the cascade badge. Gym #3 Vemillion City Gym This gym is quite a challenge. With 3 members and a maze thing. You can unlock the door by finding 2 switches on those trash bins. After finding one, the next would be easy. The next switch would be located somewhere near it. And after unlocking the electric door had been switched off, you will be ready to face the gym leader Lt. Surge Members Engineer, Sailor, and Gentleman Voltorb Lv21 and Magnemite Lv21 2 Pikachus both Lv21 and a Lv23 Pikachu Respectively You want easy wins? Grab a diglet or two from the Diglet Cave not far from there. If lucky, you'll find a fully evolved Dugtrio. Are you ready to face Lt. Surge yet? If so, here he comes. Leader: Lt. Surge Voltorb Lv21, Pikachu Lv18, and Raichu Lv24 If you followed my tips earlier (The Diglet Tip), this won't be so hard. If you have a squirtle/warturtle with you, it wont be advisable for you to use it. Go for once with type advantage the Dugtrios or Bulbasaur/Ivysaur and this will be a piece of cake. If successful, you will be given the Thunder Badge. Gym #4 Celadon City Gym Next Gym! Your getting closer and closer on becoming a true pokemon legend! And by far the best pokemon trainer in the whole world. This gym specializes in Grass/Poison pokemons. You would be surprised if you tried talking to the man outside of this gym. The old man that looks through the Gym's windows, just try and talk to him. I laughed so hard after talking to this old guy. I hope you do so too. Anyway, I won't be giving you the members of this gym. I will just cut to the chase and talk about the Gym Leaders, anyway she's the most important, right? Leader: Ericka Victreebell lvl. 24 Tangela lvl. 24 Vileplume lvl. 29 Again, like the always. You should be using pokemons that have type advantage. In this case, you should either use fire and/or flying types. This is where your charmander/charmeleon starts to be really helpful. Wipe 'em out by using Charmander's fire attacks! And after that, you should be rewarded your 4th badge, the Rainbow Badge. And this is the end of part One Pokemon Fire Red: Gym Guides. Hope I helped you guys! I will post the remaining gyms on the next and last part of this guide! PART TWO: COMING SOON! Hope I helped you guys! Gym #1 Pewter Gym The first gym! Nice work on this man! Nearly 1,000 words is quite impressive! I think that this will definitely come in handy and many people will find this to be useful.
You gave lots of detail which is always great, but you also went the extra mile and broke your review down into each gym/city which is really useful and keeps things neat and clear. Nice job man! Overall I think this isa very useful review and you did a fantastic job of breaking it down and going into detail with it to make it clear and easy to follow. So great job and I think you should definitely continue making walkthroughs because you are good at it! Barathemos : Razor-987 : Thanks Guys! I really appreciate the fact that you actually replied in my post. I guess everyone is not on to reading long posts like this one. But any way, thank you for telling that I am really useful to vizzed. I am really trying hard to help vizzed in every way I can, so expect more from me. I already finished making the 2nd part of this review. Feel free to read and criticize it again. Link to Part 2: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=67020 Razor-987 : Thanks Guys! The gyms are really the biggest problem that I have in this game, I guess that might be since it's been so long since I have last played these games. |
