When I was first starting out the game, a few minutes ago, I had no pokeballs and a level 9 mudkip, I ran into the grass to grind some more and found a shiny ralts, but hadn't bought any pokeballs to capture it with.I wanted to rage quit because of how sad this was, because ralts was going to be on my team originally, and a shiny one would have been 20% cooler.

I've had two. I encountered a shiny Geodude in Soulsilver and I caught it. Problem? I couldn't save the game as I already had another save file. I didn't really care though. The next one was bad though. I chained for a shiny Stantler and got it. It killed itself in its confusion. My only true shiny failure.
