Cano wants a 300 million dollar contract from the Yankees, and I am sorry Yankees fans, but if he wants that much, he has to go. Even the 144 million dollars that the Yankees are offering him is a lot. However, I also feel sad for him because if he does not sign with the Yankees, no other team will likely even offer as much as the Yankees did.

Cano won't get a $300M contract from any team. Pujols was looking for a $300M contract a few years ago and ended up 'only' getting about $240M. Cano is a good hitter, don't get me wrong, but not nearly as good as Pujols was with STL. Giving a player that big of a contract is foolish, and almost always ends up hurting you rather than helping, no matter how good the player is. You can't win with one great player; after all, it is a TEAM sport.
