Who is excited about the Michael J Fox show? Oh, I know I am! He has been one of my favorite actors ever since he was Marty Mcfly! Well, who else can't wait to see it?

He was pretty awesome in the few episodes of Rescue me he was in. Had not seen him acting in ages before that. Or after that.

Just letting anyone that cares know that its on tonight at 9. Only 20 more minutes, can't wait!

I adored Michael J. Fox as a younger girl... probably due solely to the Back to the Future series.  However, I did see him in a few other things and remember not being so impressed. That being said, I'm not sure I can look past the nostalgia, since Back to the Future was one of my favorite movie sets.  I was definitely surprised to see that he was starring in a new show, but I couldn't muster the enthusiasm to watch it.  That being said, how did the show go?  Was it better or worse than you expected?

I've always thought he has amazing patience to deal with his Parkinson's while trying to film scenes.  I can't imagine how hard that must be.

Singelli : Best new sitcom ever! He was very funny, alot of jokes was made about his parkinson's disease but it was all in good fun. This really sets a high goal for all new sitcoms. He was nice clean fun that the whole family can enjoy. I am really glad to see him back out there. Lets just hope for a Back to the Future 4 now! His character has parkinsons on the show (which was a very good idea). The show has a nice message too, it shows that you can over come what ever life throws at you and still be who you where before.

GenesisJunkie :  See, I love nice clean humor! It's such a shame that most shows forget that clean humor can be a lot of fun... in fact, I find it much more fun that the 'skanky'  and sexual humor most of today's shows have.  It's just too much.

I NEVER would have thought of using his disease in the show! You're so right... that's brilliant! I kinda wished I had watched it now. XD awwww, guess I'll have to cross my fingers and hope I can talk Jason out of Battlestar Galactica next week.  (Sorry if I butchered that spelling.)

Singelli : You can always turn it to it and hide the controller ; ). If you have on demand I am sure it will be on it too.

If you guys liked the Back to the future -movies so much, did you ever play the video game where I think MJF did some voice acting too?  I guess it was sort of a sequel to the movies. I never did but read a review about it one time.

I actually had to check all this out because of my bad memory... But oh well. It is called simply Back to the future: The game and it is available for PC, Wii and PS3. (no wonder I led it slide)

Brigand : My wife has a Wii so I just might be getting it! It has to be better then the Back to the Future games for the NES or Sega Genesis. Did it have a positive review? I will get it ether way just because I have a huge fan of Fox and Back to the Future.

Cool if you get to try at out, man! Give it a go and tell us how it was. The review I read was sort of mixed. The praise was for the characters and the story, but they said the puzzles were too easy. Or something to this extend. Yeah and Michael J. Fox plays both of the future Marty McFly and also the wild west ancestor. But some voice actor plays the teen aged Marty.

I just went and watched the Michael J Fox show on demand by your suggestion.

I have to say... I was HIGHLY... EXTREMELY disappointed.  I didn't find it funny, the characters weren't relate-able, the whole story of the show was just sadly ironic, and it was NOT as family friendly as I expected.  I mean... granted, it was more family friendly than nearly every show out there right now.... but it still had about 5 very sexual comments/ insinuations/ jokes in about 30 minutes.  I would be plain embarrassed and disappointed if my kids ever saw and heard those statements made by the characters.

The women in the show seemed to be cast from... well...
okay, I truly, truly hate to say this because I'm not a shallow person at all, but the women all looked AWFUL.  I enjoy a more natural look and I think Hollywood tries to put too much emphasis on fake beauty.  Typically, I can't stand that every woman in every show looks like a super model.  But instead of this show using an average looking woman, every female character nearly looked like a Neanderthal.  Hug overhung brows, sunken eyes, and ridiculous lips.  I could hardly listen to them because I kept focusing on how all the women had this same look.

That's honestly, really the least of my disappointments though.  I guess the writers were trying to be cute, but I just didn't like that one of the main messages of the fictional show was that his disease shouldn't be exploited.  Isn't that what the show is doing itself?  Unless they are donating all of their profits to a cure for Parkinson's or something... I don't understand how they can possibly view their message as sincere.

I'm sorry, but I definitely have no interest in continuing to watch the show.  I feel like any success it has will be for the exact same reason his character is successful:  prior fame and a large fandom stemming from those days.

Singelli : Yes there are a few jokes that are not so family friendly but over all it had a more of a let your family sit down and watch it feel then any other sitcom out right now (like you already said). I think it is more family friendly then the 90's sitcom Friends (hated Friends). With all the shows like Two and a half men and How I Met Your Mother you have to say that the Michael J Fox show would be the one you would want the kids to see. Fox does have a foundation for parkinson's research (called the michael j fox foundation). I am not sure if profits from the show goes to it but I am sure Michael himself will use money made for it. 

Yes him being Marty Mcfly really bumps up the reason to watch but every single sitcom is using the star factor right now.

I do totally respect your opinion though (as I would any ones opinion). I am sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as I did, I am just glad to see him out of his funk and doing so acting again.

GenesisJunkie :  Oh please don't apologize! I was totally curious about the show, but I probably wouldn't have watched it and never had that curiosity satisfied, if it weren't for you.  LOL

In comparison to other sitcoms out there right now, I would TOTALLY agree with you.  Judging from the pilot, this show would be my choice.  I don't consider it clean with those jokes, but it's cleaner than most anything else.

I know Fox has a foundation... I'm a pretty big fan of his.    So yes, I agree with you that it's nice to see him acting again.  I was a little surprised at how bad he looked due to his condition though. It's kinda sad.  

You want a totally clean and hilarious sitcom-like show?  Try ABC's "Middle". It's even cleaner than the Michael J Fox show, and it will have you in stitches.

I didn't watch the show, but I did here that it got in at least 9.5 million people watching it which was a bit impressive, yet they said the crazy ones starring Robin Williams got at least 13 million or so viewers. Still I'm impressed by both shows to say the least.

GenesisJunkie : I love MJF. I always have. He's great. I have my DVR recording it, but I haven't had the chance to watch it yet. Thing is, I kinda get bummed out when I see him these days and the affects that Parkinsons has had on him and his body.

Just makes me sad I guess....so that might affect how much I love the show(or not) We shall see.

Jordanv78 :  Me and my husband were talking about the same thing.  You can definitely tell what it's done to him. I hadn't seen him in a long while, and so to see the affects was a little shocking.  For one, he can't always hold his eyes open in a normal way, and he looks pretty darn aged. (More than normal, I mean.)

I didn't watch the second episode, but my husband did and he said it was awful.  He said it made more dirty jokes than an average modern show. I think he was probably exaggerating, but I can't say I'll be watching the MJF show.  I'm disappointed that it's not very family friendly, and constant sexual jokes are not something I want to bombard myself with. I can find better things to watch that will amuse me far more.
