Since this forum is for an older age group, I decided to post this here...and there is a work subforum. I"m basically asking what your work is. As of now, I work at an office. I am going to college next year to become a lawyer though. So...I just work part-time at an office. Hopefully this will change if I make it into my dream college, YALE. So what is your job as of now? I'd be interested in hearing about it. Share some experiences about your job, say what your job IS.

Well I am only 14. I work at a counselor in training at a summer camp (during the summer obviously). I don't get paid because I am still in training. When I am 16 I can work there during the summers as an actual counselor and get paid.

I'm a full-time student. So, right now I'm living off of my fiance... and parents. She makes enough that we can live in an apartment and take care of ourselves.

I have been working under a lot of job descriptions in the past. I have been pizza chef, bouncer, a home appliance sales man, a roadie, undertakers assistant, a gardner, some warehouse and construction stuff and maybe something else. Oh! And various different jobs at the post office. Also some illustration's, writing (as in journalism) and all kinds of shticks and schemes.

Currently unemployed but pretty sure to be back at some low paying temp. job soon enough.

Pixel, you're going to be starting college next year?  That's pretty awesome!  I'm assuming then that you don't live in the United States?  I know a few countries out there actually consider the last two years of America's idea of 'high school' to be college, and what American's consider college other countries consider 'university'.  Or... well. *blushes* ... something like that. I probably could have worded that better, but I'm too happy to care at the moment.  haha

Anyways, it's pretty awesome that you want to be a lawyer.  What inspired you?

As nearly everyone here knows, I'm a high school teacher.  I've also worked a diner cashier, tutored, and worked as a cook/servant/maid at a bed and breakfast.  I guess my experiences are pretty slim.    (Oh, and I did a brief summer job at some offices, but that was manual labor and sorting stuff, mostly)

I'm a part-timer at a KFC in California. I'm planning to quit in about three days. I'm not really amused at all with this job. I liked Tim Hortons in Canada better.

When I go to college, I'm planning to go to Yale and attend their law school, as well. To become a prosecutor in criminal law, no less.

That's cool. What are you taking as your pre-law, Political Science? That's the most common pre-law course, just like MedTech as pre-med.

I live through... my monthly allowance from my parents, but I also do some paid projects with some student programming teams, I have more than enough money per month though so I haven't really touched any of my earnings yet.

I'm the Membership and Marketing Director at a YMCA in the Detroit area.  I plan advertisement campaigns, I organize community events, I tour and sell memberships to new members and I help deal with account management of our 1,800 or so families that use the facility.  I also coordinate the various aspects of our branch (Aquatics, Youth Sports, Tennis, Camp, Childwatch, Personal Training, etc) and build a united marketing plan to encourage people to use our facility.

It's tough work, I'm 31 and I love what I do.  I work at a gym so I get to swim laps and play basketball and racquetball and work out on my lunch break.  I work with motivated people who are excited about changing lives and helping people get healthier and fit.
