On the clock working my remote job which is fortunately pretty slow today, which is allowing me to get a bit ahead on the TDV today. Just made some tea too, kind of makes for a nice vibe I got going on this morning.

At the moment, I'm looking at the mixed bag of the new LEGO Pokémon sets slated to release early next month...

As a fan of both LEGO and Pokémon, I was excited to hear that minifigures of Professor Oak and Red, two super iconic characters, were being made... and they're locked behind a $300 giant Pokéball set... the ball is similar in concept to the Super Mario Question Block from a few years ago, but is almost double the price for having just under 400 more pieces. Disgusting. The diorama of Oak's laboratory and the battlefield scene that flips out when you open the ball are nice, but they could've easily been sold on their own for a fraction of the price. Can't wait to see dozens of listings for this giant Pokéball set excluding the minifigures and dioramas on eBay, lol.

As for the other sets – Arcanine looks solid, Munchlax looks pretty good, the Rayquaza set looks okay, but I'll need to see a review since this is easily the most divisive set right now. The giant Red minifig looks good too, but I'm not into sets like that.

Overall, it's exciting to see that Pokémon minifigures are a thing now, but they're unfortunately locked behind overpriced sets you'd have to sell a kidney for.

From a marketing perspective, what LEGO is doing makes sense – release the overpriced sets first so that impatient LEGO/Pokémon fans and people with deep pockets can throw their money at them, and then wait another 6 months to a year before releasing the same minifigures in affordable playsets. Hardcore fans have shown they're more than willing to drop $650 on the giant Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set, so in LEGO's mind, they can pretty much get away with anything, lol.

I'll be patient. As cool as the Oak and Red minifigures are, I know they'll appear in other sets later. In the meantime, I'll be laughing as separate listings for the standalone minifigures and the Pokéball itself flood the market, lol.

Anyway, this is how I started my afternoon after waking up and seeing videos revealing the new sets show up on my YT feed.

Job searching, listening to music, posting on Vizzed, and just generally trying to keep sane.

2 of my girls are at a summer camp thing at the university nearby so I won't see them again until Saturday. This is weird because we usually have 5 people in the house and now we're down to 3. It's a bit of a preview of how life will likely be in the next couple years but for now it's just weird for the house to be so quiet.

So instead of actually being productive I'm posting here because it kind of takes my mind off all the other stuff in life.

I was listening to If Tears Could Bring You Back by Max Rebel Walker on Spotify, i found myself crying I lost my dog a long time ago

Been doing some bit of extra work, classifiying documents so I can bring to the office tomorrow. After that, I basically enjoyed the rest of my afternoon and night.

I'm right now posting a bit here using the short breaks of a Youtube video in the background. It's the second of five livestream videos of all the action that happened the past weekend in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, in total some 8 hours worth of racing action across different categories that can keep me entertained for a whole week both at home and on my way there from work.

I might pop up something to play before I go to bed, I have an itch to play games to ease my mind through the workload we have this month and I absolutely need that right now.

Helping bake some cookies as the rest of the house will be going on a trip to visit some family members starting tomorrow, and they wanted to bring some baked goods with them. I'll be staying home as I need to work, someone needs to be home, and I saw them the aforementioned family members a few weeks ago anyway, but figured I'd chip in to the baking efforts while I finish up my posting for the day, totally not because I get to eat some of the dough and baked cookies as payment for my efforts. Once I'm finished with that and getting my posts in then I'll go play my PS2 for the rest of the night until I fall asleep in my chair lol

My youngest daughter and I have been binging the Thousand Year Blood War from Bleach to get ready for the final season coming up in 2 weeks.

We watched the original show and the 3 parts of the TYBW before and then moved on to other things while we waited for the final but I wanted to binge these before the final section came out. This week has been perfect because my other 2 daughters are at a summer camp this week so we've had lots of time to get through the 40 episodes.

I was roleplaying my little pony friendship is magic meeting cozy glow on my phone and its pretty fun, one time my character let cozy out of Tartarus because he was manipulated by her it was awsome.

I just did a bunch of household chores while waiting for everyone to get home... I cleaned my own room and 2 of our bathrooms, went out and swept/blew off both the front and back of our house from the billions of leaves and sticks from the billions of trees surrounding our house, and then vacuumed the entire downstairs area since I already had the vacuum out anyway. It wasn't really on my itinerary when I first woke up, as this isn't the bi-weekly whole house cleaning day but typically when I get into "work" mode I end up doing like 7-8 extra things that I didn't really plan on doing - I just like keeping the train going until I either run out of things to do or am too exhausted to continue. I do still need to do a little grocery shopping in an hour or two though.

I'm watching Nefarious and posting and job searching. Job searching can be pretty boring so I usually watch a movie or show while doing it. Helps kill the boredom.

I got let out of work early today as we were particularly quiet throughout the day, so I ran a few errands and got gas a few minutes ago, then came home and took a shower, and now I'm relaxing, getting a couple posts in, and waiting for the kitchen to be free before I start making my dinner. Not exactly sure what I'm having just yet, but I do know a warm meal sounds great right now!

I've got 2 big things going on today.

First, it is my youngest daughters birthday and we have a party planned for her and some friends at an arcade type place. It sounds like it'll be a decent amount of fun.

Second, is getting all 3 girls packed and ready to go for a camp they are leaving for tomorrow. They will be gone for 2 nights so it isn't too much to pack for but still will be a decent amount to get done around all the birthday celebrations that will be happening.

I decided to come here to post a bit before going to bed. I have pending in another tab a turn-based match at Board Game Arena with a friend of mine, if she pays me some attention we can continue but if not we'll continue with it for two weeks xD

Before coming here, I was testing top speeds in Gran Turismo PSP. For some reason I had never done that, and I discovered cars which thanks to slipstreaming reach incredible speeds. For example, a Ford GT which in real life claims a top speed of 205 mph I managed to put it at 255 mph and up to 230 without slipstreaming (reminder that cars can't be tuned there, what you buy is what you get). Now I wonder if I should test more hypercars or even race cars to see if they're designed with special gearing for slipstreaming.

I'm currently exploring if I can adapt PS4 or Gamecube controllers to play on PC. I had a dedicated controller for this, but one by one the games and emulators start to not recognize it and so I'm slowly but steadily running out of options.

Before going straight to buy a new one, I want to check if I can make do with a substitute. I already tried the PS4 but my old computer didn't handle it properly. Never tried GC, if I find possible ways to do/try it I will attempt them.

Though maybe I should go straight to buy a new one instead of going through all this hassle just to properly use controllers no longer being in use for their actual consoles. But I'm stubborn and I want to spend more time home and less outside, so yeah.

I'm currently trying to achieve the scummiest 4 jersey snag of all time by doing the bare minimum while everyone else is taking a day off. I'll be going offline after this post and we'll see if it works or if karma will bite me lol

I haven't won a jersey all month and that's embarrassing as the back to back champ so I need to set that right today
