Ehh... If I did have a time machine, I wouldn't really try to mess with the past since that could really change my present time and make things confusing and chaotic but I would still try to discover the past and the future without messing with things.

I could also go back in time and watch every major event in history and make it so that I have done every single major thing that ever happened in the world.

zanderlex : Ehh I'm not that sure on that idea. There were lots of tragic events in history like the titanic and world war I and II. It sounds risky but hey still a creative idea.

B619ook : I could just as easily go back and stop the Titanic from sinking or stop the wars. Since we live in the present, we know what happens, so we would be prepared before the event happens.

If I brought back a decent computer back to the 1910's (not any earlier or it could be classed as witchcraft) and a wireless router, I would let the scientists figure out how it works and what makes it work. Imagen where it would take us today! Computers could end up in our mind and only visible to us through our own eyesight, though it may have to be banned on the street (side walk) since too many accidents will happen, usually blind collisions!

zanderlex : That's a good ideal. But the minute you'd stop the titanic from sinking, or stop a World War, everything would change, and you wouldn't know what new tragic event will happen.

I guess you could go back in time, change one event, come back to the present, see what the "next" tragedy is, go back, fix it, and repeat. Though every time you'd "fix" something, something else bad would happen (like pushing on a bubble under wallpaper, it just moves somwhere else), however you could theoretically eventually illuminate the worst of tragedies (or what you might think is worst. Titanic and the Twin Towers are only a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of deaths in war-torn lands, I'm not sure how easy it would be to "fix" those). But you'd eventually grow old and die... and there will always be tragedies.

That's actually a very interesting thought... it would make a good movie, eh?

Well, going back to the past in my own time machine sounds like fun, and going into the future sounds even more interesting, but I wouldn't want to mess with or change anything, I could make things better, but I could also make things worse!  No, if I had a time machine, I would make it so I could only observe, and couldn't mess with anything, also the people around me wouldn't even know I'm there, as simply talking with people might also screw things up.

If I could go back into the past I'd step on the very first micro organism before it could begin the chain of evolution, and no life would exist on this planet. This way I would know that no twilight movie would ever be made.

As stated many times, and as the movies go, don't mess with the past. It could have tragic stuff happening when you go back to the present world. < I'm not saying we'll be able to, at least not now.

Well, I wouldn't want to mess with time. If it even exists. One slight change in the past could really mess up the world today-it seems cool, but I wouldn't even attempt to go back!

No.  On the flip side I would go into the future.  The past doesn't do anything for me and it already happened.  I want to see what's down the road and what's coming at me.  I could even pull a Back to The Future II and get a sports almanac to win bets at sporting events and make millions of dollars.  That would be my plan.

Yeah I wouldn't want to mess with the delicate threads of time, even going back to hang just a little simple thing could actually make a big difference later on in the future and a lot of things would be screwed up because of it, so just because of that, I would not want t take the risk of messing with time. I may look back and say I wish I hadn't done that, but if I go back to change it, who knows how many other things and lives I might change by doing that? Just a thought that I would bring up, time is a very delicate, precious thing that shouldn't be messed with. Interesting question by the way.

I would go to the past once to see how I was a little child, but I wouldn't screw up any major events. I would also go to the future once to see how much we improved (or deteriorated). But I think it's just better to don't mess with time, so maybe I wouldn't do this if I had to choose.

No, I would not. I might go back to check up on various incidents in world history to check their validity, but otherwise I'd much rather travel to the future and look at advances in technology and medicine. I'd love to go back as far as possible to see whether time really is infinite or not and see how earth was formed.

Oh.. I have always thought about this and I would love to have a time machine so I could mess with the past... I have always wanted to go back in the past so this interests me a lot but then again you have to think about the problems it would cause. You could warp it in the wrong direction and be stuck there forever if you went to the wrong place especially. Also I remember I watched the movies with this and it always ends badly for the people who are using the time machine hehe. I do love the idea and as I know in my heart it would be cool to change the future it just wanted be right in the end.

To be honest, if I had a time machine, I would just want to see the past. I don't really want to mess with it at all. I rather just keep whatever happened the way it was.

No. If watching countless sci-fi movies has taught me anything then changing something small in history could have gigantic punishments.
