I'm not a nerd in it's obvious use. I'm athletic, don't have glasses or braces, and don't spend all of my time studying. I do use the computer a lot and play games like Minecraft but at the same time I work out and manage my time. I might be weird but not a nerd.

I certainly don't consider myself one because you don't have to be considered a nerd to be smart, otherwise a lot of people would be nerds. I think it is the look and the personality that would put you in the nerd category, and what I mean by that is wearing suspenders and having pen pockets and tape between my glasses, then you fit the description of a nerd. Getting Good grades and doing well in school shouldn't put you in that category though. A lot of kids at my school ask me like are you a nerd? And I say no, I don't need to be a nerd to have common sense and know basic things. There are plenty of smart people out there that aren't nerdy looking!

It disappoints me to see in so many of the replies to this thread that such a vast number of people do not comprehend the term "nerd". Nerds are not people who are "smart", nerds are people who simply relish studying and treat it as a hobby. That is definitely not me. I am smart, though.
