If you guys remember my review of yoshi topsy turvy for the GBA, you guys might remember that the game requires you to tilt your actual game boy in order to help you unveil hidden pathways and game secrets! Well, it seems that back in 2001, Kirby had his own adventure just like that! But does he make it fun? Let's go ahead and find out, this is Kirby's tilt n tumble for the Game boy color. (NOTE: This was one of the last GBC games released in NA, well it does say 2001!) Anyways, let's just get on with it.

Story-6/10
The story behind this one is actually pretty simple, despite the fact the game doesn't tell you about it unless you read the manual, But here it is, Kirby is just taking a nap like usual, He then sees one of his enemies waddle doo carrying this giant piston somewhere, But a second later he sees King dedede carrying one as well! He then has to investigate, and then he discovers that his home world dream is in a loss of stars, Then his quest begins.

Gameplay-7/10
First thing you will notice when you start playing this game, It is not a platformer! Instead it is an action puzzle game where you control Kirby from a top-down view, In this game he is a ball, so as the title of the game suggests, we will have to tilt the game boy color in the direction you want to go in order to help Kirby find his way, Not many of the face buttons are used, but oh well. This game is an action puzzle game where you control Kirby through big mazes, solving puzzles and collecting a plethora of items along the way. The game borrows alot from yoshi's topsy turvy in that regard, in which everything I just said is basically what you do in that game. There are not many bosses in the game as there were in the previous Kirby games, but for what it is worth, they are fairly okay. Kirby controls pretty smoothly, just tilt your GBC back and forth and watch Kirby roar through the maze! Just don't let him fall out of the maze! Each level has you getting to the end and recovering the level's star, these are pretty much required for this whole point through. Anyways, I guess that is pretty much it for the gameplay. On to the graphics!

Graphics-8/10
For 2001, this didn't go too bad! I mean, the game does play from a top down isometric view, But is that bad? Well no! It is nice to finally get a change of pace here for once! All the worlds and mazes you will be exploring and traversing through are giant, vass, and bursting with absolute color! Now as for the characters, I guess they are OK, But the game does not have many sprites besides Kirby and his enemies! No big though. Oh yeah, 2001 was the last year of the N64 and GBC, so I can easily tell that Nintendo was trying to bring their all with this one AND conker's bad fur day which came one month before, and I think they actually did good! The HUD is pretty self explanatory, It displays how many lives you have left until game over, how much health points you have left until you lose a life, and your score for the game in total.

Sound-7/10
The sound in this game is actually your typical Kirby stuff, but is that bad as well? Um, no! I really like how Kirby has forever been a family friendly series for the past 20 years, and I hope that does not change! But anyways, the sound in this game is really good! All the levels have music that really suit the levels well and I hope Nintendo doesn't stop doing this with their games! Now as for the sound effects, they are pretty good as well! You get your typical boings, bounces, thuds, thrumps, and well, yeah! This is an 8-bit console, so there are also your typical beeps bloops and booms, so that is it for the sound I guess!

Addictiveness-7/10
How much fun does this game in it? Well, gee that is a tough one to be honest! I really like how Nintendo tried to make this game way different then the last few previous installments in the series, and they really succeeded in that! And well, the game is an action puzzle game, so it should be able to bend with your mind quite alot of times when play! Kirby games have always had a fun addicting feel to it that never gets old, so why not this one guys?

Depth-7/10
The game itself is pretty long and offers quite alot to do! I mean first, the game does have a scoring system! So each time you play, you can just play to break your new and old high scores, and that works out pretty well! And you guessed it, the sub-games are back! These mildly amusing games are back again! Now while the ones here aren't as fun as the ones in the previous Kirby installments, but they are pretty darn fun for what they are worth! Wait a sec, oh yeah! The game is also 4-6 worlds long, so it will most likely take you 2-3 hours to get through this one!

Difficulty-5/10
Now this is where gets it's low points, In my honest opinion, the game doesn't offer you enough challenge for it to fully be enjoyed by you or anybody else! I'm not trying to nitpick, but seriously, I got through the end of this game with about 15 extra guys left! Actually, what am I saying guys!?!? The game offers plenty of challenge in it's mazes and levels and the subgames, and I think that is really good! Kirby games have been known for their difficulty curve.

Overall-7.4/10
The game boy color doesn't have much puzzle games on itself to be honest, but when I came across this one, I changed my mind! This is a really fun challenging and enjoyable experience for any Kirby to enjoy!  I gave this game a 7.4 because how much things it offers! Challenge, fun, charm, and so on. So if you see this one anywhere, just pick it up! Anyways, this has been RedHotToddy and his 106th review, and I am out! See you guys later!

Again another great review from you. Thank you for letting me know in a PM. I enjoyed this one a bit more than your last one, but that may of been because it is a game I know and have played. For your next review I suggest Majoras Mask for the N64. Or have you already done that?
