I know that I have to get to the stone pillar. The only way I know to get there is to use the cannon. Well, the most difficult part for me is not missing the stone pillar. I think it requires a great amount of precision in aiming the cannon. That is the main problem is that I keep missing the stone pillar. I am desperate to get through that one!

sevencube3 : Well the cannon isn't all that accurate in the game like it is in Super Mario Galaxy. I honestly don't see why you have trouble on this star. Keep aiming with the cannon. If you miss by shooting over it, aim a bit lower.

What I do to get the star is I aim the cannon a little higher than the pole closest to the platform and if you do it right Mario will automatically grab on to the pole and you can turn Mario whatever way you need him to go and then jump on to the platform. Let me know if this helped you.

I normally do what PacmanandMarioffan suggests. But sometimes it doesn't work for me, so I just keep trying. Eventually you will notice how the cannon is shooting you and you can work out a solution from there. Plus, it's fun to play with the cannon so at least it will be fun figuring it.
