Hi there! So, you've come here for a comprehensive guide on Pokemon Ash Gray, have you? Well, you've come to the right place! Here I will be posting as I play through the game, to ensure that all information is accurate and up to date for your convenience. So, if you're ready, let the game begin!

Chapter One: Are You Ready?

**First things first, you'll want to configure your keyboard buttons the way you like for your game play. This can be done by double clicking the game screen, then clicking on each of the GBA button types and pressing the button on the keyboard that you would like to correspond to it. Easy. Now you're ready to play.

OVERVIEW
Places:
Pallet Town:
- Your House
- Oak Pokemon Research Lab

Pokemon:
Pikachu Lvl. 5 - Prof. Oak

Items:
x1 Potion - Home PC
Pokedex - Prof. Oak
x5 Pokeballs - Prof. Oak
Running Shoes - Mom
Town Map - Mom
Fame Checker - Mom

Alright, so as it is in all Pokemon games, you see Oak going on his introductory soap box. When he is finished talking, he will ask you if you are ready to raise a Pokemon. Click YES, and you will be prompted to enter your name and your rival's name. I chose Ash and Gary, because come on, who plays Ash Gray and names the hero Tod? Overall, it's up to you, so once you've finished with that, you will start the game.

You'll start off in Ash's room, all dressed and ready for Pokemon training, right? Wrong! Trying to leave now will only get you scolded by your mother, who tells you it is 11:00 and you should be asleep. Instead, you'll want to go over and inspect the pokeball by your desk, which will give you the option to change into your pajamas. Do this, then climb into bed and press "A" to go to sleep.

When you wake up, you can check the alarm clock by your bed. Doing this will make you realize that you are late! Quick, make your way over to Professor Oak's lab, but before you go, head to the PC on your desk and withdraw the Potion from your item storage.

The first thing you will notice upon stepping outside is that the area map has been completely changed around from Fire Red version. Props to the creator for making a new gaming experience! It's pretty easy to get lost if you don't know your way (though you can just as easily try all paths until you figure it out), but for the purposes of this walkthrough, I'll tell you which way to go. Head south from your house until you see the set of stairs on your right, along with the sign that says "Oak Pokemon Research Lab". Head up this way to the Lab entrance and you'll be confronted by your rival - he'll go on his usual rant, but unlike in Fire Red, you do not have to fight him now. You don't even have a Pokemon yet! Once your rival goes away, head inside and up the stairs on the right to find Professor Oak.

After talking to the Professor, head over to the three Pokeballs. After opening each one, you will find that there are none left. Talk to Professor Oak again, and he will give you a Pikachu, along with your Pokedex and 5 Pokeballs. Take these and head back out the way you came. Going through the back door on the ground level will take you to Oak's Pokemon storage area for the trainers of Pallet. Run around in there if you want, but there is really nothing to do there. Head back down the path to the stairs by the sign, where you'll meet your mom. She will stop you and give you a pair of running shoes, a town map, and a fame checker. We love you, Mom! You will automatically change from your pajamas into your traveling clothes, and you will finally be able to start your journey.

Chapter 2: The Trouble With Spearow/Rockets Attack

OVERVIEW
Places:
Viridian City:
- Pokemon Gym #8 (locked)
- Xanadu Nursery (locked)

Route 22:
- Victory Road entrance (locked)

Pokemon:
Route 22 -
Rattata Lvl. 2-5 (Common)
Pidgey Lvl. 2-5 (Common)
Spearow Lvl. 2-5 (Uncommon)

Trainers:
Team Rocket Cohorts -
Ekans Lvl. 5
Koffing Lvl. 5

So, you are officially a Pokemon Trainer. Head all the way north from Pallet Town to Route 1. There, you will come to a clearing where a cut scene will take place. First, a Pidgey will appear, but your Pikachu will refuse to battle it. After the Pidgey flies away, go and talk to Pikachu. After Pikachu shares its defiance with you, a Spearow will appear and attack it, and you will enter battle mode. Now, it is important to note that no matter what you do, Pikachu will not listen to you in battle at this point. So, to avoid fainting, I would run from the battle as quickly as possible. When you have exited the battle, the angry Spearow will call more of its kin, and you will have to make a run for it. Don't go straight north, as you will encounter a tree that blocks your path. Instead, hang a slight right and you will see some stairs that will allow you to transverse the blocked area. Continue running from all battles at this point. When you reach the water's edge, press "A" and you will be given the option to swim in it. Do so, and the current will take you to where Misty is fishing. She will tell you to take your Pikachu to the Pokemon Center in Viridian City right away, and you will end up on her bike.

Cue epicness! The sky will darken and a thunder storm will start up while you ride the bike east down the path. After you hop the ledge, a line of Spearow will block your way. Pikachu will launch a Thundershock at them, and they will disappear along with the storm. When the sky clears, you will see a passing Ho-Oh, said to bring good luck to whoever sees it. Sadly, you no longer have a bike, so now you must walk (or run) the rest of the way to Viridian City. Go down the steps and head north, and you will be there in no time. Going south leads to some water, and going west leads to a shortcut back to Pallet.

Officer Jenny will stop you at the entrance to Viridian City, saying that she is on the lookout for thieves, but after that she will escort you to the Pokemon Center where you can heal up your Pikachu if you did not follow my advice and decided to try and battle with it anyway. When you walk in, Misty will find you and yell at you about her bike, then leave. Once you've healed your Pokemon and try to exit the Pokemon Center, you will be stopped by none other than Team Rocket. Hooray! It's your first real battle! Pikachu will listen to you now, so go ahead and fight. If your Pikachu's HP starts to get low, that Potion you took from your PC back in Pallet should come in handy. The great thing about this battle is that there are no consequences for losing - you will not have to pay any prize money, and your Pikachu will still beat Team Rocket after the battle is over. The plus side of winning is that your Pikachu will gain a level from the experience.

Once the battle is over, you can spend some time training your Pikachu in the grassy areas on Route 22. Just head west past the Gym. I recommend training to Lvl. 10 before taking on Viridian Forest. Route 22 is also the entrance to Victory Road and Indigo Plateau - however, trying to enter the cave will only get you stopped by Officer Jenny at this point, so it's best just to ignore it.

Once you're finished training, go ahead and stock up on Potions, Antidotes, and Paralyze Heals at the PokeMart. 3,000 is enough to purchase x5 of each item. After that, it's time to head to Viridian Forest.

Chapter 3: Trek Through Viridian Forest

OVERVIEW
Places:
Viridian Forest:
- Samurai's Cabin

Pokemon:
Caterpie Lvl. 3-5 (Common)
Weedle Lvl. 3-5 (Common)
Metapod Lvl. 4-7 (Uncommon)
Kakuna Lvl. 4-7 (Uncommon)
Pidgey Lvl. 4-7 (Uncommon)
Pidgeotto Lvl. 7 (Rare)
Beedrill Lvl. 8 (Special)

Trainers:
Bug Catcher Sammy -
Weedle Lvl. 9

Team Rocket Cohorts -
Ekans Lvl. 8
Koffing Lvl. 8

Bug Catcher Samurai -
Pinsir Lvl. 10
Metapod Lvl. 8

Bug Catcher Charlie -
Metapod Lvl. 7
Caterpie Lvl. 7
Metapod Lvl. 7

Items:
x2 Potion - Floor
x1 Pokeball - Floor
x1 Antidote - Samurai's Cabin

Alright, time for Viridian Forest. You'll want to head up north from Viridian City, and follow the path all the way until you see the line of thick trees - this is the entrance, so walk on in. Now, there are two places in this forest where Pokemon appear without fail. The first is as soon as you enter the grass, with a Lvl. 5 Caterpie. Catch it if you want it, but if you miss it don't worry. There are plenty of them around. The first thing I that I would do when you walk in (after the wild Caterpie appears) would be to hang a right and collect the Potion hidden in the grass. Once you've nabbed it, head back to the entrance and go straight north, following the path around to the right until you see another item ball, which contains another Potion. You can never have too many of these, right? After you pick it up, jump the ledge and head back to the entrance. This time, you'll be going west (left) through the grass until you come to a small cleared path. Follow it north until you can make a left turn, and pick up the hidden item ball which contains a Pokeball. Once you have that, continue northward toward the edge of the grass. This is second time when a planned Pokemon appears. Once you reach the edge of the grass, you will encounter a Lvl. 7 Pidgeotto. This one I would recommend that you catch, as they are extremely difficult to find again in this stage of the game. These two staged Pokemon, Caterpie and Pidgeotto, are there in case you wanted to catch the same Pokemon that Ash did. If you don't care to follow the template of Ash's party, you can still feel free to catch any of the other Pokemon that you see.

After your battle with the wild Pidgeotto, continue following the path northward, where Bug Catcher Sammy will challenge you to a battle. Defeat him and go talk to the girl who is standing nearby. She will heal your party to full health. How convenient! Talk to her whenever your training has left you weary. Continue north into the grass and you will be challenged by Team Rocket once again. This time it is a double battle, so the first two Pokemon in your team will be sent out. Beware of Koffing's Poison Gas attack! After your battle, go back to the girl to have your team healed up again.

Once your party is healthy, head back into the grass and turn left. There would will be challenged by Samurai, and I will warn you now that it is a tough battle, especially without a good Flying-type Pokemon. Pinsir's Attack stats are high, and its Vice Grip attack deals a lot of damage. Make sure your Pokemon are ready before you head his way. After the battle, Samurai will announce that a swarm of Beedrill is approaching, so you should follow him to his cabin. If you have a Metapod with you, you can send it out to help protect you, but a wild Beedrill will carry it off. Don't worry, you will get it back later. For now, go up to the Samurai's cabin. Inside, you will find an item ball that contains an Antidote. Pick it up, and talk to Samurai. He will chew you out for a while, but then he will heal your party and send you on your way. **Glitch Notice** When you exit Samurai's cabin, you may notice a reddish tint to your game screen. Don't worry, this doesn't affect play at all. Back outside, you will see your Metapod leaning against the tree by Samurai's house. Go and talk to it, and it will return to your party. Afterwards, a wild Beedrill will attack, and you will have to defeat it. This is also your chance to try and catch it, if you wanted to. By now your Metapod should be Lvl. 10 and evolving into a Butterfree. If not, no worries, you can continue training. After the fight with Beedrill, go ahead and visit Samurai again to have your party healed.

When that is done, continue following the path to the left and be challenged by Bug Catcher Charlie. He is the last trainer in the area, and relatively easy to defeat. After battling him, continue to follow the grassy path toward the exit, and you will end up on Route 2 just beneath Pewter City.

Chapter 4: Pewter City

OVERVIEW
Places:
Route 2:
- Flint's Rock Shop

Pewter City:
- Pokemon Gym #1
- Hydro-Electric Power Plant
- Shard Guy's House

Trainers:
Leader Brock (Battle 1)-
Onix Lvl. 14

Leader Brock (Battle 2)-
Geodude Lvl. 12
Onix Lvl. 14

Items:
Hard Stone - Flint's Rock Shop
Light Ball - Flint (after losing to Brock)
TM39 Rock Tomb - Brock
Boulder Badge - Brock

Okay, so we're about to enter Pewter City. There is not a whole lot of excitement going on here, so this will be a short chapter. If you talk to Flint at his rock shop on Route 2, you can buy a Hard Stone for 100. Giving a Hard Stone to a Pokemon will boost the power of Rock-type moves. If you decide not to buy one, continue on north into Pewter City.

Once there, feel free to take a look around. To the east is Pewter's Hydro-Electric Power Plant, but you can't do anything here yet. Just east of the Power Plant is Route 3, but Flint will keep you from leaving town until you have defeated the Gym Leader. All the way north past some trees is a house where a man will offer to make your Pokemon stronger in exchange for a Yellow Shard. Alas, you do not have any Yellow Shards at the moment, so keep him in mind if you find some later.

Once you've finished exploring, head to the Pewter Gym to challenge Brock. If your Pokemon are Lvl. 10-12, you're pretty much toast. After you lose to Brock the first time and leave the building, Flint will find you and lead you to the Power Plant, where he will give you a Light Ball. Give this item to a Pikachu, and it will boost the power of its Special attacks (like Thundershock). Continue training your Pikachu until it is at least Lvl. 14, and you should have a chance at defeating Brock if you have a good supply of Potions. Many of you will start to feel exasperated by how long it takes to train your Pokemon using only the bugs in Viridian Forest, but you know what they say - no pain, no gain.

Once your party has gotten stronger, return to the Gym to challenge Brock again. This time, instead of Onix he will send out his Geodude. Defeat it, and the sprinklers will come on. When they do, all of Brock's younger siblings will come out to protest the match, but Brock will choose to continue anyway, starting another battle sequence in which he returns with his Onix once again. It should be noted that, in this game, Electric attacks actually do damage to Rock-types. Pit Pikachu against Onix, and its Electric attacks will do even more damage due to the water raining down on the arena. Once Onix has been defeated, you will be granted TM39 and the Boulder Badge. Congratulations! You have completed your first step on the road to the Pokemon League.

After defeating Brock, Flint will return to look after his family, freeing Brock to pursue his dreams of becoming the world's best Pokemon Breeder. There is nothing left to do here, so go heal your Pokemon, stock up on items at the PokeMart, and head east onto Route 3.

x1 Escape Rope - Floor (Mt. Moon - outer)
x1 Revive - Floor (Mt. Moon - inner)
x1 Moon Stone - Giant Moon Rock (Mt. Moon)
x1 Antidote - Floor (Mt. Moon - outer)

Okay, so the first part of this is really simple - make your way along Route 3, defeating all the Trainers in your way. Once you get to the end of Route 3 where the sign and the stairs are, you will see a boy standing beside the patch of grass. He is not a trainer. Talk to him, and he will heal your Pokemon. When you're ready, go head up the stairs onto Route 4.

A little ways up the path, and you will see Seymour the Scientist being attack by a wild Zubat. Interact with him to enter a battle sequence, and destroy the annoying pest. Once you've defeated the Zubat, Seymour will introduce himself and tell you of the problems concerning Mt. Moon, asking you to go and investigate. Hooray, you get to head into a deep, dark cave. First thing when you get in, you'll want to head straight up and defeat the Lass trainer, then follow the path upward. Pick up the item ball which contains a Potion when you see it, and continue on to where you see the ladder. Use it, and you'll end up on a rocky plateau where you'll get to battle a hiker. When you've defeated him, follow the rocky path to the right all the way to the end, and pick up the item ball which contains a Nugget, the return to the two ladder holes and go down into the southern one. There, you must fight a Black Belt trainer, and collect the item ball which contains a Star Piece. When you have finished, return up the ladder and go back down the hole you originally came from.

Follow the path back down to the entrance and hang a right. Defeat the Super Nerd, then follow the path east until you see an item ball on the ground. It contains TM09 Psych Up. Go ahead and pick that up, then battle the Bug Catcher just ahead. When he has been defeated, continue up the path and go up the ladder onto the surface. Here, go collect the item ball which contains a Rare Candy, then continue down the hole into the next area. Defeat Hiker Vlog, and nab the item ball which contains TM46, then head back up the way you came.

Now would be a good time to exit Mt. Moon and go back down to the boy on Route 3 who will restore your party's health. After you've done that, return to Mt. Moon, hanging a right to where you battled the Super Nerd and take the northern path that we deliberately skipped over before. Follow it all the way to the end and step onto the platform with the ladder, where you'll be confronted by Team Rocket. Defeat them, and you'll be able to climb the ladder to the outside once again.

On the surface, defeat Youngster Josh. Then follow the path up and around, heading south and battling the Lass. After you defeat her, continue south to pick up the item ball containing the Escape Rope, and return just north of the Lass to take the path continuing East. Here, battle the Bug Catcher and descend down the hole. Walk north and pick up the item ball containing a Revive, then return and follow the path East. Battle the Ruin Maniac and continue on. Follow the path as it winds around the room until it leads straight north. Walk up the path to the large rock and take the Moon Stone. Then walk into the group of Clefairy, where you'll be confronted by Team Rocket once again - but this time, the Clefairy jump in to save you. After Team Rocket Disappears, Seymour arrives to announce that he will be living on Mt. Moon with the Clefairy. How touching. Follow the path down the stairs to the left and grab the item ball with the Antidote, then head down the hole and out the exit onto the other side of Route 4. Now you're headed to Cerulean City.

TM05 Roar - Floor (Rt. 4)
Cascade Badge - Daisy
TM03 Water Pulse - Daisy
x1 Blue Shard - Buried Item (Rt. 24)
TM45 Attract - Floor (Rt. 24)

Okay! Aren't you glad you made it out of Mt. Moon alive? Now it's smooth sailing to Cerulean City, but there are a few things on Rt. 4 you should pick up. Follow the rock ledge down onto the dirt path and head straight south to where you see the ledge and the cluster of flowers. Inside of this narrow strip, follow it as far East as you can, and if you look carefully, you'll notice a small dark patch on the ground. Inspect it, and you will find a Razz Berry. Head back onto the dirt path and read the sign to see it say "Gary was here, Ash is a loser!" Haha, very funny. Follow the opening in the ledges and collect the item ball which contains TM05, then continue eastward until you hit Cerulean City. Conveniently, there is a narrow passage above the patch of grass there which will allow you easy access back to Mt. Moon, something that isn't present in Fire Red.

The first thing you will notice when you walk into Cerulean is the huge gathering of people in front of the house by the Pokemon Center. If you try to go inside, Officer Jenny will stop you on suspicion of being a burglar, but will back off once she sees your Trainer card. She will then explain that the items that were stolen were a massive vacuum and a giant hose. Interesting...

For now, you can heal up your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center. Take some time to talk to the old man and the girl who are in the lobby, as they will give you some pertinent information, then head out. Your next stop should be the PokeMart, where you can sell the Nugget and Star Piece you found in Mt. Moon for a total of 6,000, and restock your supply of Potions for your upcoming Gym battle. If you want, you can hang onto your Star Piece, and I'll tell you why later. There is a Bike Shop here in Cerulean, but the prices are too outrageous for you to afford, so you'll have to go without. Head on into the Pokemon Gym, and you will find the three Sensational Sisters... which you can't battle. What good is that? Talk to them again, and they will offer to give you the Cascade Badge. Whether you say yes or no, it doesn't matter - Misty will show up and demand that you fight her for the badge. But here's the kicker - Pikachu refuses to battle Misty! You will have to get this badge without the use of your Electric Pokemon. A PC screen will show up for you to deposit your Pikachu before the battle begins. Do so, and you will enter the battle sequence with Misty. You should be able to beat her fairly easily with a team that is Lvl. 18-20, just remember to use your Potions if you need them.

After defeating Misty, Team Rocket will appear with the giant vacuum and hose that were reported stolen. Misty will heal your Pokemon, and the PC screen will pop up again so that you can place Pikachu back in your party. When you have done this, you will start the battle sequence with Team Rocket. Once you've beaten them, Misty will leave and you will have to talk to Daisy again to receive the Cascade Badge and TM03.

Back outside, you will notice that the crowd around the house has dissipated. Go inside, and you will see the huge mess left behind by the robbers who broke in. Talk to the man on the left side of the room and he will tell you that Team Rocket stole a TM that teaches Dig, as well as some valuable equipment. Head out the back door of the house to gain access to the northern part of Cerulean City which was previously unavailable to you. The first house you see on the other side has a man in it who will tell you about the benefits of earning each of the 8 badges. Talk to him if you want to know what you have to look forward to. Go back outside, and head to the far right corner, where you will see a little house. This is the home of? Cute Caitlyn, who will cute-ify your Pokemon at the going rate of 1 Star Piece. This is why I told you that you could choose not to sell it, earlier, but if you aren't interested you can go back to the PokeMart and sell it for 1,000 at any time.

After you've talked to Caitlyn, go back out and continue heading North, where you'll hit Route 24. Go into the narrow passage to the left between the rock face and the ledge, and follow it to the end. Press "A" in front of the last little square of space and you will uncover a Blue Shard. Then continue north and battle the line of 10 Trainers who are waiting for you. Once you have cleared the long line of battles, you will be at the steps of AJ's Undefeated Gym - 99 wins, 0 losses. You will want to make sure your party is healed up before you challenge him, and here is a trick you can use so that you don't have to go all the way back to the Pokemon Center in Cerulean - Go inside of AJ's tent and access the PC. Deposit all of your Pokemon but one into the box, then withdraw them again and repeat the process with the one you left in your party before. Going in and out of the PC completely heals your Pokemon. Now you are ready to go back out and challenge AJ. He battles using a Lvl. 28 Sandshrew, and you only get one chance to beat him before he gets his 100th win and no longer accepts any challenges.

Whether you beat AJ or not, it is time to continue along Route 24. Follow the path around and to the right and pick up the item ball which contains TM45. Then continue right onto Route 25.

TM43 Secret Power - Floor (Rt. 25)
Teachy TV - Pokemon Tech Teacher (if you pass the mid-term exam)
TM28 Dig - Floor (Rt. 5)

As soon as you walk onto Route 25, a dense fog will settle around the area and you'll be able to see a group of Tech students training the newbie on a treadmill. Walk up to them, and the group will disperse, the newbie Joe explaining to you that they were only helping him study for an exam, and afterwards he will challenge you to match against his Weepinbell. After the training you got on Route 24, beating the Weepinbell should be no problem. After you beat him, go above the ledge where the patch of grass is on your left and follow it to the clear part of Route 24. You will see a small dark patch on the ground. Press "A" near it, and you will uncover a Pecha Berry. You back to Route 25, and make your way through the maze of trees, battling the Trainers as you see them.

Stop and pay attention once you see the brown tree blocking an item ball. You can't cut down the tree now, so if you want what's behind it, you have to do this next step carefully. After defeating School Kid Jenn, notice that there is another Trainer standing right beside the tree. Starting as far back as possible, walk straight towards the trainer until he sees you, and that should draw him out far enough for you to sneak in behind him and nab the item ball, which contains TM43. Then continue on and battle the remaining two trainers before you get to the Pokemon Technical Institute. Inside, you'll meet Giselle, who will go on her long rant about how she's the top student at the most prestigious Pokemon academy in the world, yada yada yada... And then you will get to battle her, and make her eat her haughty words. After you beat her, take a look at the mid-term exam that the student at the desk is taking. You can take the test, and if you get a score of 80% or higher, you pass. If you pass the test, talk to the teacher at the front of the room and she will give you a Teachy TV. Also, you can read the chalkboard to learn all about Pokemon status changes in battle. You're all finished here, so head back outside and go south, then west, hugging the rock wall for a shortcut back to Route 24 and Cerulean City.

Back in the city, make a pit stop to heal your Pokemon, then return to the man's house who got the TM Dig stolen from him. Remember him? Go back through his house to the northern part of the city and go right as far as you can, then south, following the path along the outside of the hedge until you reach Route 5. Here, go all the way south until you see the water's edge, and pick up the item ball in the bottom left corner. It's the Dig TM! Well, guess what? You get to hang onto this. I tried talking to the guy to return it, but you can't. So, onward. Since the you can't get through the underground path to Vermillion right now, you have to take a little detour on a secret path located at the bottom of the grassy strip all the way to the left. When you see the fuzzy line in the grass, turn left into it and you will enter the Hidden Village.

Chapter 8: The Hidden Village - Battle With Bulbasaur!

OVERVIEW
Places:
Hidden Village:
- Melanie's Sanctuary

Pokemon:
Oddish Lvl. 10-11(Common)
Bellsprout Lvl. 10-11 (Common)
Rattata Lvl. 10-12 (Common)
Caterpie Lvl. 10-11 (Common)
Paras Lvl. 10-11 (Common)
Bulbasaur Lvl. 10 (Special)

Items:
x1 Full Heal - Floor (Hidden Village)
x4 Escape Rope - Hidden in Rocks (trap hole)
x1 Max Elixir - Floor (Hidden Village)

Upon entering the Hidden Village, you will follow the path until it turns north, where you'll see an Oddish. Go near it, and Bulbasaur will appear to defend it, yelling at you and leading it away. Follow north after them and up the set of stairs. The sign you see in the corner after the first stair will ask you not to catch any Pokemon that you find here. Turning left up the second set of stairs, head north before you cross the bridge to pick up the item ball which contains a Full Heal, then cross the bridge. Up ahead, you will notice a couple of oddly colored patches of grass. Step on the first one you see, and you will fall into a hole. Press "A" next to each of the rocks to find an Escape Rope in each one. Use one of them to appear back on the surface. The second odd patch of grass does not contain any items, so don't bother stepping on it - you will only waste an Escape Rope trying to get out. Instead, head down the next stairs and turn left. Keep heading left until the path turns north, being careful to avoid the odd patches of grass if you don't want to get caught without a spare escape rope to get out. Follow the path north, and you will see the Bulbasaur accompanied by a girl who introduces herself as Melanie. She will explain how she's the one who set those trap holes, to try and catch trainers before they got to the hidden village. Then she will tell you that Bulbasaur is the village's guardian, and how it is the bravest and most loyal Pokemon she knows. After that, she will offer to let you take Bulbasaur with you, on the condition that you battle it.

Enter battle sequence! You will now get to battle the Lvl. 10 Bulbasaur and get a chance at catching it. If you make it faint, don't worry - you will get to battle it over and over again until you catch it, just talk to it again to start another battle sequence. Once you have caught Bulbasaur, you will notice that it is holding an Everstone. This item will prevent it from evolving, and is there for story purposes, since Ash's Bulbasaur never evolves. If you want, however, you can take the Everstone from it and it will evolve normally.

Now you're finished with this section, so head south and hop over the ledge with the small trees on either side, making sure to collect the item ball hidden in the grass on your right, which contains a Max Elixir. You will notice that in these grass patches, Pokemon actually appear. It's a good opportunity to train your new Bulbasaur, since you'll have to grind to get him up to where the rest of your team is at anyway. Once your through there, go ahead and take the exit to your left, where you will end up on Route 6.

Items:
Old Rod - Fishing Guru (Rt. 6)

Start heading south on Route 6 and you will notice a Charmander sitting on a rock. You can interact with it, but it will not battle with you, so keep heading south until you reach the Pokemon Center. Inside the Center, you can talk to Damian, the Charmander's trainer, who says he's the one who left it on the rock and lied when he promised to come back for it. Now that you know the Charmander has been abandoned, go back and check on it. It is raining outside now, so the Charmander is really weak. You will be given the option to take Charmander with you, so pick it up and take it back to the Pokemon Center to be restored to full health. Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of a Charmander. Charmander is holding a Lucky Egg, which gives it extra Exp. in battle. Exit the Pokemon Center, and Damian will try to take the Charmander back by challenging you to a battle. Beat him, and you'll be able to continue on.

Continue south down the path, keeping to the left side of the white fence to pick up an Everstone hidden in the ground at the bottom of the enclosed area. Then head back up and take the turn where it forks east. Suddenly, you'll be stopped by a gang of Squirtle! The gang leader will want to challenge you, but they will scatter when Officer Jenny appears. Because of the hole in the ground, you can't go south, so keep going east until you see the small house by the water. Inside is the Fishing Guru, who will give you an Old Rod. Outside, the redheaded girl will heal your Pokemon if you talk to her. Now that you have a fishing rod, go to the edge of the pond and press "A" to use it. As soon as you, the Squirtle will appear! After you're prompted to battle it with Pikachu, the Squirtle will hurt your Pikachu and disappear with it. Now, you must enter the cave to your right.

Inside of the cave is completely dark, so you may have a hard time navigating. So for now, you'll just have to use your feelers. Straight ahead, you will see the Squirtle and your Pikachu, though it will only allow you to heal it with a Super Potion. The general direction you should be going is north, east, south, west, south, and you will come out the exit beside the PokeMart. Talk to the shop owner, and he will give you a Super Potion. Return to your Pikachu to heal it, and Squirtle will be impressed by your compassion for Pokemon and wish to join you. Congratulations, you now own a Squirtle. That was easy, wasn't it? Now that the leader of the Squirtle Squad has been caught, return to the path west of the fishing guru's house and head south toward Vermillion. But first! Head west when the path opens up and you will find Bill's Lighthouse. Walking in the surf will allow you to encounter a Krabby, which you should catch if you want to follow the story from the TV show. After that, head into the lighthouse and use his Video phone to call Prof. Oak. After talking to him, Bill will tell you about his lifelong dream to meet a Dragonite. After you are finished here, head back outside and bit further south, and you will be in Vermillion City.

Chapter 10: Battle With Lt. Surge!

OVERVIEW
Places:
Vermillion City:
- Cool Carl's House
- Pokemon Fan Club
- Pokemon Gym #3
- St. Anne (locked until after Gym Victory)

Pokemon:
Fishing:
Magikarp Lvl. 5 (Common)

Trainers:
Gym:
Engineer Dwayne -
Magnemite Lvl. 21
Voltorb Lvl. 21

Battle Girl Tess -
Electabuzz Lvl. 23

Leader Lt. Surge -
Raichu Lvl. 25

Items:
VS Seeker - Girl in Pokemon Center
Exp. Share - Chairman of the Fan Club
Thunderstone - Nurse Joy (If you choose to after losing to Surge)
Thunder Badge - Lt. Surge
S.A. Ticket - Girls by the docks (After beating Surge)

In Vermillion City, first make a stop in the Pokemon Center and get a VS Seeker from the girl sitting at the table. This item will allow you to battle trainers you've already fought. Then leave and hang a right, entering the house right behind the battling trainers. This is Cool Carl's house, and he will enhance your Pokemon's coolness for one Red Shard. This isn't necessary, but it's there if you want it. Besides that, go ahead and make your way to the Pokemon Fan Club. It is located just south of the Pokemon Center on the other side of the water. If you have a Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle with you and show them to the three fan club members, talk to the Chairman and he will give you an Exp. Share.

The only real places to go in Vermillion right now are the Fan Club and the Gym, so spend this time training your Pokemon. You can go back up Route 6 to the last part of the Hidden Village to train there, or alternatively you can go fishing or fight the wild Zubat in the cave where you met the Squirtle. Either way, it's a good idea to get your new starters up to par with the rest of your team, and the Exp. Share should be able to help with that, especially during your Gym battle where you will get the most experience. Something to note is that, when Charmander evolves at Lvl. 16, it will stop obeying you. This is just something you're going to have to live with for now, so I suggest giving it the Exp. Share after this point to help keep it on par with the rest of your party, since you won't be able to use him effectively.

In the Gym, defeat the two Gym trainers. Talking to them afterwards will get them to unlock the electric barrier between you and Lt. Surge. Now, the real battle begins. Raichu can be a tough challenge, so I used a combination of Pikachu's Thunder Wave, Bulbasaur's Leech Seed and Charmeleon's Dig to Take it down. (You should have acquired the Dig TM on Route 5 before you entered the Hidden Village). If you lose to Lt. Surge, you have the option of getting a Thunderstone from Nurse Joy, but again, if you're following the story line, you should choose not to evolve your Pikachu.

After you beat Surge, head toward the St. Anne Harbor and you will be confronted by two people who give you a ticket which will allow you to board the St. Anne. Before you do, make sure you restock your supplies at the Pokemart.

x1 Ether - Floor, Room #10
TM44 Rest - Floor, Room #11
x1 Stardust - Floor, Room #14
x1 X-Attack - Floor, Room #16
Hatchet - Floor, Room #12

Okay! So now that you're aboard the St. Anne, it will set sail. Take note of the nurse in the far right corner next to the exit, you might need her later. Go to the right and all the way to the back door, where you will enter the kitchen. Pick up the item ball in the back left corner, which contains a Great Ball, then go to the right side and collect a berry out of each of the trash cans. Now, back in the first room, we're going to go through all of the cabin rooms, one at a time, starting from the right side of the front row and going left. We'll name the far right Room #1. When you get to Room #6, you will find the TM Brick Break in the bottom corner. In front of Room #6, you can talk to the man behind the desk and buy a Magikarp for 500. That's pretty much up to you.

Now head south down the left hall and take the stairs down to the B1 Floor. Check the trash can next to the stairs and find a Hyper Potion, then continue checking cabin rooms, starting with the first one on the left, which we'll call Room #8. Room #12 is locked, so once you're finished exploring through Room #11, head back up the stairs, up the 1F hallway, and up the stairs in the left corner to the 2F. Here, you'll continue going through cabin rooms, the first one on the left being Room #13, and follow the hallway right all the way through Room #18. Make sure you pick up the Stardust in Room #14 and the X-Attack in Room #16. Up the hall to the far right is the Captain's quarters, but you can't do anything here, so when you're done checking out the cabin rooms, head all the way left and up the stairs, then through the hall onto the Main Deck. Here, go and talk to the trainer beside the Raticate, and you will get to battle him. After the battle, he will ask to trade his Raticate for you Butterfree. Go ahead and do it - you will have the chance to get your Butterfree back later.

After the trade, make your way back to the 1F and witness Team Rocket's James purchasing a Magikarp from the man behind the desk. After that, head back to the B1F, where a bunch of Team Rocket Grunts will have appeared. Battle through them all, and you will be able to get into Room #12, which was locked before. Inside, you will find a Hatchet. This new tool will allow you to cut through small trees that block your path. Once you have it, head back to the stairs, where you will be confronted by Jesse and James. After you beat them, you will be able to re-trade your Raticate for your old Butterfree out on the main deck, so go do that. When you have Butterfree back, head back down the hall to where the Captain's Room was. On the way, you will notice a strange rumbling in the ship. Hurry onward and enter the Captain's Room to talk to him. He will go to check out what's wrong with the ship - and the next thing you know, it'll be capsized!! Now you'll have to find a way to escape. Go to the crack in the wall to inspect it. You will be given the option to break it open with your new Hatchet. Do so, and you will be swimming in the Kanto Ocean.?

Swim around to the left, and you will see Jesse and James floating on a raft. James will toss away the Magikarp he bought, but as soon as it enters the water, it will evolve into a Gyarados and attack them in a rage. After Team Rocket disappears, you will get the chance to battle it. Once the battle is over, a herd of Gyarados with throw Ash into a cyclone, and he will wake up on a mysterious island...

The first thing that you will notice when you arrive on the island is that all of your Pokemon are missing! You'll just have to explore until you find them again.. Hanging a left, you will see a Slowpoke sitting on a rock near the ocean, and a phone booth. It doesn't do anything special, and the phone booth doesn't work... Drat. Head further left until you see a gap in the trees, and walk through - but watch out for the flying Zapdos! Just north of you on the other side of the trees, you will see a ball lying on the ground - this is NOT an item ball, but one of the Pokeballs of your lost Pokemon! But where is the Pokemon...? Keep going, and you will see a giant Pikachu that is actually a machine, a sign that says KEEP OUT, a rusty rail cart that doesn't work, and the rest of your Pokeballs as you travel further west. Once you have collected all 6 Pokeballs, your party will have returned to you and you will be able to access it in your menu. At the end of the sandy beach stretch, talk to the lady next to the boat and she will take you back to Porta Vista, the mainland.

Once you reach Porta Vista, start to make your way north, battling the trainers in your way. Once you get past them, you will see two restaurants. These two restaurants seem to be competing for business. If you walk inside Moe's restaurant, you will see Prof. Oak and your mother, who are there on vacation and ask you to tell everybody you know about Moe's restaurant to help it gain popularity. Next, head further north to the Pokemon Costume Contest, where you will see your rival Gary standing off to the right. He isn't here to battle you, so after you talk to him, he will walk off. Follow him further north to Maiden's Peak.

On top of the ridges, you will see a building with a boy standing next to it. Talk to him and he will tell you about the new hotel that Nastina is building, and the camera will shift to give you a better view. Next, go inside and talk to Nastina. She will tell you about how the Tentacool are interfering will construction, and will offer you a reward if you capture their gang leader, Tentacruel. Accept this task, and go over to the PC in the corner. Since there is no Pokemon Center here, use the trick of dropping your Pokemon in the box and withdrawing them again to heal them if you need to. Then head back outside and talk to the boy again. This time, a herd of Tentacool will appear in the water, and mutate into a huge Tentacruel, which you will have to battle. I know it has great moves that can take out most of your team, but this Pokemon cannot be caught. Sorry folks, don't waste your pokeballs. Once you have defeated it, it will issue a warning to stop the construction, or it would return to seek its revenge. Talk to the boy again and he will say that they have to stop construction, so now his job is to ferry people across the water to Maiden's Peak, and will offer to give you a ride. Accept, and you will be on your way.

Coming Soon! Chapter 13: Maiden's Peak!

Pokemon:
Route 22 -

After that, it's time to head to Viridian Forest.

x1 Antidote - Samurai's Cabin

Chapter 12: Pokemon Island

OVERVIEW
Places:
Pokemon Island

Porta Vista:
- Brutella's Ocean Chateau
- Moe's Seaside Restaurant
- Porta Vista Beach Beauty & Pokemon Costume Contest

Pokemon:
Porta Vista:
Tentacruel Lvl. 25 (Special)

Trainers:
Porta Vista:
Swimmer Cara -
Horsea Lvl. 15
Shellder Lvl. 15
Horsea Lvl. 15
Horsea Lvl. 15

Swimmer Todd -
Goldeen Lvl. 20

Swimmer Ellen -
Krabby Lvl. 18
Slowpoke Lvl. 18

Swimmer Eric -
Tentacool Lvl. 20

Wow this is enormous, great job on this though, it is extremely large and detailed which will certainly make it helpful to use in the game. It must've taken a lot of time and effort to make this, but congrats on making it. This is one of the biggest posts I have seen, so good job on this, it is quite impressive to see. Nice job though, I am sure that this will help a lot of people in the game because of how detailed your guide is. Great job, keep up the great work and I think you did an awesome job on this walkthrough especially considering you joined vizzed only 2 days ago!

MechaMento : Haha! No, this is all original work. It took me 2 1/2 hours just to complete Chapter 5, so using that as a reference, I would say that I've spent about 8 hours on this walkthrough so far. Thanks for dropping by, and I'm glad you like it

This is amazing. I'm not going to be playing this, but if I do, I am going to use this guide. Over 5000 words, almost 6000, and not even plagiarized. I would never take the time to write this.

I applaud you.

PhoenixPhyre : This is a really great game guide and I seen if it was legit and this guide is legit, you made it in your own words and this is a really nice job you have done with your guide and also with your position you're at, that is quite amazing though, mostly when someone makes one at your position with this many words, normally it's plagiarized, but this is 100% in your own words.

Thanks you guys! ^^ I will be making more, life has just gotten hectic. But I promise to add more after the holidays! I plan to make a complete guide, but it is quite a project. Your support is very encouraging, though... I can do this!
