In the GSC games, which TM came at the most opportune time?

It could be when you needed a specific typing to help with a Gym?
Or maybe a substantial increase in power?

For me, it was being able to buy the Elemental Punches in Goldenrod.

It gave such a wide range of coverage, plus granted a much stronger attack to pokemon of that typing. For example, Flaafy only had Thundershock at that point, but Thunderpunch has 75 power, completely blowing it out of the water

I can't really remember an opportune TM, but Fly came at the best possible time. I would've hated surfing all the way back to Olivine from Cianwood. I just wish it had come sooner.... 


As for TM, I'd have to go with Headbutt. It was useful for finding pokemon & getting the occasional flinch if you were faster. My favorite part though, was headbutting trees. I enjoyed doing that for some reason.
