                          I would like to know how to have the network adapter for the GBA in the Retro Game Room so I can get the Mystery Gift in Pokémon: Fire Red. Do I just buy the net play in the shop?

Netplay doesn't work on Gameboy games, so using that won't be able to get you the Mystery Gift. Currently, there isn't a way to link up with other players through Pokemon. Sorry about that, but perhaps in the future there will be a feature that allows players to do so.
