Mine are this, first off, neither of these directors, nor any movies save for a select few have created character's I care about, while plenty of video games have. Next, this age of video gaming has brought on some of the most intense and heart-grabbing stories I have ever seen, and movies seem to continue with the old cliches. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have told some nice stories, but they never have they made anything I would call a classic.

Because the Final Fantasy series clearly never happened. Aeris is a prime example of making the player care for the character. That's why her death was so shocking.
