Yea, while I went to bed last night, I guess I was brainstorming about ideas for vizzed, then out of nowhere, suddenly this one popped up.

I was thinking, If you make a thread, You have a previlege to post in it and everything etc.

I was thinking, If you are the thread creator, instead of having to call the mods, We should impliment were if a thread is made by you, you should be allowed to close it.

Quite frankly, This can be useful for the moderators as well, considering they get summoned for these type of threads quite often.

This would only apply to the person whom is the thread creator.

Ever since I was born, I have been thinking about making a thread exactly like this, to implement a feature where owners of a thread can close it. I don't suppose the mods really mind it when people summon them for a good reason, though. Still, I would like to see this feature implemented. However, I do NOT think they should be allowed to re-open their own thread. Even if they are the person that closes the thread, it would be a bad idea to allow them to re-open it.

Not a bad idea I agree with the fact that the threads creator should be allowed to close the thread but I don't think the threads creator should be allowed to reopen it. But I don't think this idea will ever be implemented because the local mods would be out of a job because its a part of a local mods job to close threads and sometimes re open threads and if this was implemented there is tons of room for abuse for example you might not like my post in a thread you made so you the thread creator close and then reopen it when I'm offline and then close it again when I get back on.

I agree with the whole "creator should be able to close their own thread" option. Although I don't think that's going to reduce the amount of summons we get very much. Most of the summons we get are to close spam threads...which usually the creator wouldn't close anyways.

The re-opening of the thread should be left out though. Just because then we would have a problem where people keep re-opening threads we close.

i guess I never really thought that could be abused, but Since three people have said it, I'm gonna cross the reopen part of the idea out.

Haha, I love the idea. You have no idea how many times this has happened:
“Well, I have the info I need from this thread, and I don't want it to get spammy, so I will summon the local mods, so,
Loacl mods: I have the info. ( I did that to avoid summoning the mods )
So, that post was partly spammy, so this could stop those kind of posts. I feel like this has come up before........

SuperCrash64 : Why thank you sir. What did you expect? Summoning the local mods is just spam, plus, people still post after you have summoned the local mods, and those posts are spammy. This idea would stop a whole lot of spam.

SuperCrash64 : Ahh... I remember seeing a few other people mentioning the same idea before. I have always wanted this idea to be implemented. It will also decrease the amount of summons mods would get. As a few of you have mentioned, it can be abused by reopening a thread several times, however a solution to that problem is that you can just make the thread creator open and close his/her thread as much he/she wants however, if a local mod or above were to close that thread, only the mods can reopen it, not the thread creator. Also the mods can ban the thread creator from being allowed to close and reopen his/her own threads. Would do you guys think about that idea?

mohammedroxx3 : That wouldn't be needed, because We've already scratched The reopen part of the idea out.
Now hold on for a second and let me explain this:

1)We've scratched the reopen part of the idea out, because Three users and one of them being a global, have pointed out ways that the reopen part could be abused.  Like let's say someone makes a spam thread, and a moderator closes and trashes it. but then that user decides to reopen it. it would cause a lot of struggle for the moderators.

2) There wouldn't be a need for a ban feature from allowing you to close threads.    That won't need to be implimented because  Most of the threads, are usually good threads,   So we would only close them if we wanted to, or someone is breaking rules in our thread. Etc. So It's most unlikely anyone can abuse this feature if it gets impilmented.

So again Banning users from closing threads is a rather useless idea, because This won't be abused, because it's only gonna be the thread creators previlege. and they will close threads if they want to, or have to if someone is breaking rules.

Barathemos :

Ah okay, so that was an example, Nice job showing how much more useful things will get, if this feature gets implimented.

Divine Aurora :
This won't put the moderators out of the job, Moderators are usually busy,  Doing stuff like their staff job, ignoring word post and other stuff etc.  Moderators are busy and usually reach quota, so  If this idea is implimented, it's very unlikely that any mod will be out of a job.

SuperCrash64 : I'm not sure whats the harm of making a ban feature for this but I guess this is your opinion. Though it would indeed be unnecessary if the first part of my idea was implemented. Anyways for the first part of my idea, I think the thread creators should have the privilege to reopen their threads if they want too. And as I have mentioned, to prevent abuse, if a mod were to close that thread then the thread creator can not reopen it unless the mod were to open it for him/her again. But I guess that ban feature wouldn't be necessary since a mod can just ban someone from posting if they break the rules.

mohammedroxx3 : again,  We aren't gonna enable that feature since there are so many possible ways people can abuse this,  Closing a thread is fine,   If they must they will ask a moderator to reopen it.
