Sorry if this thread doesn't belong here, but I didn't know where to post it. 
Every time I go to play any game, the controls mess up. 
It'll put whatever I click to edit as "Q" as if I was spamming the Q key. Any suggestions? 

Silly : Aye, I understand, I have the same problem on occasion, I suggest using a different emulator, sometimes there's the mednafen emulator which is good to use because you don't get the problem there. The only fix I have found for this is restart your computer, and as soon as it's back up open the game that you were trying to use, and remap your keys then. It's worked for me but do not try changing them after like an hour after your computer has restarted.
You could also try using a different web browser, Firefox is suggested but if you are using Mozilla Firefox then try to use Internet Explorer.
and also a USB controller helps too, so you don't need to change it after you get it all sorted to the controller.
Question, are you using Windows 8 as an operating system ?
If you are then the only other web browser available is Nightly.

Silly : As was suggested before, this problem happens for some people when trying to use the default emulator for Gameboy Advanced games.

Using the Mednafen emulator helps solve this problem. Just load the game like you normally would, then click the link labeled "Play using Mednafen" in the upper left hand corner of the game window.

This emulator also allows full-screen gameplay by pressing alt+enter on your computer keyboard with the game window active. It also supports multiple systems.

Let me know if you still have issues after trying using Mednafen.
