This is a tough one....
I'll be honest, Pokémon Emerald is my.. Third favourite RPG
My first would be one of the games from the Mario& Luigi series, probably Dream Team
My second would be a tie between the Paper Mario series
Emerald is my third
Super Mario RPG is my fourth
And I don't consider legend of Zelda an rpg. If I were to consider it one though, it would be fifth

Final Fantasy VI is the greatest game for RPGs.  It has a glorious intro movie, it moves quick, characters are introduced, the story is compelling, the gameplay wonderful, the strategy deep, and the finale takes your breath away.

IT's easily my favorite game all time.  No doubt about it.
